How's it his fault the other guy tried to cut line and was too stupid to go thru the light, turn around somewhere down the street (where he wasn't holding up traffic), and go back to make his turn. Once again you show your general lack of common sense.

I watch people take advantage of the kindness of others on the road daily. You get tired of the people that feel they are more important than everyone else and can't sit in line waiting for their turn. They make the wait longer for everyone else. Had you let him ahead of you, there would have been a couple of people that wouldn't have made the light behind you. That would have been your fault for holding up traffic to let him in. You did the right thing. If he's too stupid to just go further down the road and turn around, then he needs to find someone to navigate for him.

I just don't pay anyone attention in heavy traffic. Stick to the bumper of the person in front of me.

You know there may have been a legit reason for his mistake but... Doing the little lane change he was doing of course is illegal, but I wouldn't say you were a jerk from a stand point of liability. Had you let him in and he gotten into an accident you might not be responsible criminally but civily who knows, seems like everyone has a lawyer these days.

I am a Jerk, many many people tell me that all the time, thats one of the nicer ones they call me and I am the world worst at road rage, I have ran guys off the road before and made people rear end me on purpuse to "prove my point", have gone so far as to pull people out of thier cars at intersections to give them a piece of my mind (I'm doing much better now)..... yet at any point I likely would have let him in.

You assumed alot with out having any real info. You made an emotional and irrational decision based on ignorance.

1. He may have got trapped in that lane.
2. He may have been lost from out of town and not known that it was a single turn intersection.
Even still if non of that were true and your assumption were right....
3. You screwed 100 other people and endangered alot of peoples well being because obviously you said it was a kid, they dont think to go further and turn around, they just know that they need to go that direction so he obviuosly was going to try and maneuver his way in with or with our your cooperation. Was where you had to go really that important or could you have lost 20 seconds in the commute and not noticed?

So a Jerk??? No
not becasue of this incident anyway.....
Based on this..... Irrational, sub class and ignorant....... mmmm maybe

You sound like you went through the same "Community Service" I did. i.e. Agressive driver rehab.

Can't agree with that. Why he was there wasn't important. How he tried to correct it was the problem. There are a lot of people out there that can't figure out that going on, and turning around is the right thing to do. I don't know why they can't figure out such a simple concept. Selfishness maybe.

I do agree with that but then we would get into the debate of who was more selfish. The guy trying to turn and asking for permision or the guy who wouldn't let him in.

Had he let him in, how many people behind him would have had to wait for the light again, that would have made the light otherwise. The people behind him didn't screw up.

Thats 5 potential tickets that I am aware of.
