Unhappy Dog in for sugery

Well my little girl has to go in for surgery tomorrow. Last year a cyst formed on her hind leg and I was just told to monitor it to see if it got worse. A few weeks ago when bringing her in for her yearly checkup, they decided that it has gotten to the point where it has to be removed. It is starting to change colors to a deep red/black and they said it wasn't a good sign. She will go under tomorrow and it will be sent out to check to see if it is cancerous. I know a dog isn't quite the same as a person and anybody who has asked for prayers for family members or loved ones, please do not take offense to this post, but I would appreciate a little dog prayer sent out for Madison. To me, she is my little baby and I hope it doesn't turn out to be cancer.

Best wishes to you and your dog- I hope she comes through the surgery well and makes a full recovery! I can definately relate to how you're feeling! My 1 year-old chocolate lab is like my kid- our bond is unbelieveable! 2 days ago I had a good samaritan see him near a road and coax him into her car- to 'rescue' him'- and I was FREAKING out! I was sure my boy was hit by a car or, more likely, stolen! It was almost an hour before I heard from this lady and I was bawlin' like a baby until I heard her say, "I have him here and he's just fine- come and pick him up!"

Best wishes!

Nick

A dog may not be the same as a person, but they love us unconditionally and we love them too---I have four dogs, and I feel for you---I hope and pray that all goes well for you.

I hope everything works out okay for Madison. I'm in the camp that says dogs really do become part of the family.

P.S. Madison is a cutie!

Aww, she's adorable! Who couldn't love a face like that? My prayers go out to you and your "family". No matter what the nay-sayers have to say about it, pets are family and deserve just as many prayers.

I feel for you and best wishes for Madison and your family.

I have three dogs that are my 'familly' and they live in the house with myself and the wife. My oldest one (almost 11) was at the vets about 2 months ago and he had lost about 12 lbs. in 10 months. The vet was concerned about the possibility of a tumor. After blood work and x-rays, everything is looking good for him and it looks like he gaining some weight back.

P.S. I really enjoy the lounger picture.... it just made my day.

Well I just picked up Maddie from the vet and she is doing well. The doc said that the surgery went very well and the cyst that was removed was completely benign. I'm so happy. She is all drugged up so while walking she hit some walls on the way through the house but I brought her up to her bed near the window and she promptly went to sleep. Doc said her leg should heal pretty quickly so she can resume her usual activities. Here is a pic of her getting the much needed rest after such an ordeal (and yes she does have her own twin sized bed that sits right next to the window for her to look out of. I did mention she is my little girl). I really wonder what is going on in her head as she clearly had no idea what was gonna happen to her today. Makes you wonder...Thanks for all the wishes and kind words. Maddie thanks you too.
