I have a Panasonic Lumix.

It was a tad bit pricey, but I highly recommend it.

It's been a GREAT camera so far.

I should hope so, it's only the biggest photography store in the entire USA maybe even the world.

If' I'm ever in NY that is the only place I really want to go.
I get thier catalogs and have orderd online but I want to see the store and talk to the staff.

I should also hope so, isn't it the old Bell & Howell company, that has been around since the middle-ages?

(remember the AV kid in elementary school threading up the old Bell & Howell projector for movies in class)?

NO? (Am I dating myself?)

(Who remembers mimiograph paper?) (we also used slide rules)

I haven't visited every Photography store so cant say they are the "best"... I have ordered stuff from them but also places like new egg and such and I also buy from Lawrence Photo and Video. B&H is the #1 retail store and recognized instantly by all profesional photographers and many amature photographers as well.....

Holy cow, what's your beef with Canon? While I've always used Minolta for my SLRs and other digicams... my first intoduction into Canon with my SD630 I don't know why I didn't start earlier. My bro uses the Rebels at work.... pros use them all over the planet...

... man you photog guys are more fiercely loyal than Ford/Chevy/Budwieser/Miller/PC/MAC owners... sheesh.

Ahh they are alright I was just going on.... they do take a picture and they have really good glass.

They have lost a large share of the market of profesionals in the last few years. I use to belive in them myself. There are many negatives.
The only strong one besides changing the body and not making lenses and accessories before they do. They do have weak zoom motors in all of thier product line, thats my only real beef and why I won't rely on one for important shoots for a while.

My first hand experince with it was while using my firends D Rebel because my zoom motor went out in my A Rebel and I didnt have a back up SLR at the time and I was shooting a wedding....... in the middle of the wedding the Zoom motor went out on his!
Yea that sucked!!!!!

Also that was why everyone brought thier camera back to the lab when my wife worked there and I know atleast 3 people that had to send thiers in every 4-6 months for it. The wifes lab manger guessed the return rate was about 40% due to that issue. We use Nikon at the studio and have about 15 photographers in our office(1000's nation wide). In our office we have not had any issues yet, except when one gets dropped.

Now this is the SLR's and DSLR's, the cheaper ones no one works on, just exchange it if/when anything happens.

In cannons defense, they are working real hard and doing ALOT more research in photography especially digital than any one else. They have put to much attention on research and slacked on quality engineering. I'm sure they will recover one day, it will just take some time.

I guess I'm very lucky then. I've never had a problem yet with Canon glass and I'm fairly hard on them. I only buy L glass though so that may or may not have something to do with my experience.
