Sorry to hear about your accident

Glad you weren't seriously injured and I hope the leg heals quickly.

It seems to be going around...
We've had four of our motors officers wreck bikes within the past month or so, and Clayton County lost one three days ago on a funeral detail. I'm glad you made it home, be safe out there!

Sucks to hear about the wreck but you need to get back in the saddle so to speak. You wrecked. So what? In motorcycling, there are 2 types of people. Those that have & those that will.

The only thing that's better than motorcycles are airplanes.

KC-10 FE out...

bummer about your leg. You need to get back on that horse asap just to prove you can. Damned if I'd let a little ole laydown stop me from riding again.

Your scenario sounded eerily familiar...

Not trying to be a jerk here... glad you're mostly ok, but, did you get a ticket from your coworkers for following too closely?

Reason I ask, is that a couple years ago, nearly the same thing happened to me, I was slowing down for traffic ahead, when my front tire skid on some soft tar. I highsided, broke my collarbone, and got a ticket for "following too closely."

One of the benefits to the job answer is no, and even if I had it would have been fought in court for technical reasons that I'm not going to go into.

Very glad you are mostly ok. I hate to see anyone get hurt on a bike. I hope you drive/ride better than most of the cops around here. I can't believe how crappy they drive in marked cars They are paid trained professionals. They should be held to a higher standard. Unfortunately, lots of them don't even rate as average. Were you wearning a helmet, and did it hit the ground?

Glad you are OK other than the leg. In my mid 20's I rode year round except when it snowed, but still in sub zero weather. Had several spills due to bad road conditions. Been down due to ice and as well as a foggy slick road. Sliding on the road is not to bad if you are dressed for it, and do not hit anything.
Not to sound cavalear but a spill is a good wake up call and tunes your sense of caution the hard way.

Again glad to hear that recovery may be fast, we are all aware of how bad it could have been. luck.

Sorry to hear that partner. I'm from Houston and I also used to live in Brenham. I have travelled that stretch of road many times to and from Austin. I'm really glad your injuries are gonna heal ok. Good luck on your recovery!
