went for a ride on Sunday....

I decided to take my v-star out for a ride on Sunday and as I was going around a corner, I checked my mirrors, looked up and all the traffic in front of me was stopped dead. Hit the brakes, started jamming gears, realized there was no way to stop in time. So, rather than slam into the back of a truck and probably getr killed, I put it down, breaking my ankle and a toe, jammed my shoulder quite badly and got quite a bit of road rash.

I find out later today if the doctors want to operate on the ankle and put screws in. If so, I'm buggered workwise for a while and being self-employed, that's gonna hurt the old pocket book. Even if they don't operate, I'm om crutches for six weeks.

Fortunately, the bike came out better than I did and it should only cost about a g-note to fix. I'll post pics of the bike when I get a chance. Hopefully, I'll be back up and riding in the fall or spring at the latest.

Just another day in the life...

regards

just saw the doctor. No surgery, no screws and maybe a walking cast in a couple of weeks. Maybe life doesn't completely suck after all. Woohoo!!

thanks for the kind words, all. Much appreciated.

Damn, sorry to hear that my friend. Weren’t there any ramps or anything so you could do a stunt jump or something? Clear a few cars, land on a hood, and do a few 360’s?

Glad to hear things may work out better then you expected…

Thanks Burt, RP...

I don't think 650 LB bikes stunt too well and I prefer to keep the front wheel on the ground anyhow.

F.L.

I've gone through a lot of crap in my life, physically, with a lot of broken bones, rotator cuff problems from playing ball, arthritic back, bad knees and on and on. By now I've learned that moaning and groaning and feeling sorry for myself just makes things worse. Ya play the cards yer dealt and keep on going.

edited to add:
I'm not positive but I think it may have been a Tundra.
