Land Lines---did you drop them?

There was a thread here today about cellular phones---which made me think---how many of you have dropped your land line connection. We were thinking about it earlier, but Time-Warner's cable and DSL rates clim and climb, so we bundled with our phone service for Dish Network, DSL, and the land line. What percentage of you have both a cell and a landline, or cell only?

If I lived in an urban area which had good cell reception and high speed internet / cable, I would drop my land line in a second.

Unfortunatly, we live in a "fringe" area, the high speed stops 2 houses away from us, and the cell service here is marginal.

Also, I have to connect via dial-up, but like I said, if we still lived in town, I would dump my land line phone in a heart beat.

Regards

Cell and Land line, I won't drop it regardless. I won't even switch to Comcast Internet Phone service. I like my old POTS line, too reliable in case of an emergency.

I used to live in a rural area where my cell phone reception was crap. Now I live in Metro Detroit and my service is excellent.

No land line....cell only for me.

Dropped our land line when we moved about two years ago and haven't looked back. There are a few months where we go over on cell minutes, but we are still money ahead without the land line.

3 Cells + company cell + land line here.

I got a package deal, phone/dsl/satelite. It would cost me more $$ each month if I droped the phone and broke the package.

Cell phones only for me and the wife for two years now without one regret. About $90.00 a month but with rollover minutes, we never go over and text once in awhile. I even got my 80 year old mother to do the same thing and SHE loves it
Other pros?
No more crappy cordless phones
No more crappy answering machines
No more replacing all of the above due to lightning strikes
No more unwanted calls, caller ID, etc. etc. etc.

We have our land line. I only have my company cell phone(I use it like my own, but not supposed to) and my wife does not have a cell phone, so I won't be getting rid of land line any time soon

I'm surprised so many have dropped the "land lines". I know some service companies (utilities, CC, mortage, insurance, etc) won't even setup accounts without a "landline". I guess you could tell them your cell # was your "home" phone but there are ways they could check that.

Land line and cell. I dropped long distance service on the land line since it is free with my cell service. But I think I will always have a land line. Sometimes I hate talking on the cell.
