Anyone planning any mods for the boat this spring?
Anyone planning any mods for the boat this spring?
I am going to call this winter a bust and have started to think about getting the boat ready for the summer. Last spring I redid the interior and replaced the cupholders and grab handles with color matched billet ones. I added a LED light kit for gunwale light and to light up the engine compartment under the sunpad. I also put on a Ballistic SS prop and made a custom mount for the depth finder.

This spring I am going to redo the sunpad (reconstruct the support structure), put on some trim tabs, replace the stereo and add some more speakers. I want to do thru hull exhaust with captains call diverters but they just cost way too much.
Anyone else planning anything or already thinking about getting ready for summer?

I am ready!!!!!
All I need to do is replace the fire extinguisher, replace the horn and add a relay. (It hasn't worked since I bought the boat I just haven't got caught yet) Repair the gunnel and reattach a hand rail that got ripped out last year in some rough water. De winterize and GO!!!! Ohh yea I am going to buy 2 new jump seats, the originals imploded last year.
I redid the interior last year, with new floor, carpet, seat bases, and custom made engine cover, added a few more cup holders and some storage. In doing so I added more weight than I expected and ended up about 3" lower in the water on plane. Which is not a problem smoothed the ride out, except when tubing the transom mount ski pull is to close to the water line and is next to impossible to tube or Knee board behind now because you get a face full of water the entire time. So I'm looking at and trying to decide which pylon to get for this year. I need it removable so I can Put my cover on.
So I guess my list is....
Horn
handrail
Fire extinguisher
Jump seats
Pylon
Install the Bimini Top I just got
dewinterize
and GO!!!!!

Let’s see, I already have mounted my GPS antenna and display. I still need to mount the transducer. Then head to the lake and get a baseline. From there I will evaluate my motor height and move it or add a jack plate. If I go with a jack plate then I will put on a water pressure gauge. I still need to get my skeg replaced, and if this prop doesn’t cut the mustard off it comes. My goal is 65mph on the GPS, 70 would be even better.
How much did that cost and how hard was it to install?
Does it also have nauctical maps or just give coordinates?
I currently dont have a speedo of any kind, Thats the main reason I've thought about adding a GPS, but would also like nautical maps. Would really like something like Garmin with both nautical and road maps so I could transfer it back and forth to the truck. Plus have a speedo, etc etc.

I have to clean my barbeque thats about it. Fill the boat with water and the toilet with chemical and I'm on my way. Man I can not wait for summer. I have a nine day trip planned down the river it should be great.

I just got a Lowrance iFinder H2O. You can get the cards for nautical and road maps. It is waterproof and the manual also claims that it floats (tested with Energizer lithium batteries). I haven't used it yet so I don't have any opnions about performance.

Yea I don't fish anymore, I am the only one that eats it, and wife wont clean or even cook them. If I get hungry for fish I just set out some jug lines while we go play......
I wouldn't;t mind a bow mount depth finder though, I haven't landed yet, but came close a time or too when I have taken a wrong turn accidentally wound up in a cove out of the main channel and found as I came around a turn that the lake suddenly ends.
