Zman, I'd pass on that jack plate, get yourself a new one.....I'm sure Brew could hook you up.

They sure do help out.

I know they help out tons... and if that one is included, then I'm gonna take it. If not, well, I'll be using the excess from my student loans to buy yet another boat toy...

Hey I got a favor....

Does anyone have pics of people tubin' behind thier boat?

I was just looking through the pics from last year and I'm wondering if the rope isn't to long, wonder if thats why they are getting a face full of water the entire time. They are almost outside of my wake.

I didn't know if you knew I was talking to Zman about the jackplate and not you cause of the joke about jackplates on inboards.

Well, where the rope connects to my boat is only about 6" off the water, so that is mostly my problem. I just hand the people some goggles and tell them to deal with it.

different hull styles, motors, the amount of weight in the boat and speed make a huge difference in the wake the boat throws. Thats why most ski boats have ballast tanks in them that you can fill or empty to create bigger or smaller wakes. You just gotta adjust everything to get the right wake according to the cofiguration of the boat that day.

I have heard a lot of good things about the new E-TEC motors from Evinrude.

Seriously thinking about a 225 HO E-TEC for my bass boat.

I think thats part of mine too, I am about 4" above the gimbal ring so about 6"-8" above the water..... I am getting a pylon for this year..... just have to find one tha twil work for bot hthe boat and not interfere with the cover.
