Without a doubt..I just made the right decision

Ah, gotchya.
I've heard all good things about Gieco so thats why I went with them. I'm sure someone has had a problem with them as someone has had a problem with Allstate or Nationwide or Ford, Chevy, Dodge..whatever. For me, this was the right thing to do. Especially after giving my agent $40,000 so he can buy a new Mercedes every year, only to have my rates raised.
I'm happy with my decision!!

I'm suprised that they didn't try compete with the new insurance company.
I am under my parents coverage still (I pay $125 a month), and when I noticed how high their payments were I told them to call and complain about it.
My mom called and threatened to cancel. Right off the bat the agent knocked $1600 off for the year. That was for all three cars combined.

I was shopping around a few months back and thought I would try out Geico, and was all set to change, but then found LOTS of reviews by policy holders that said claims processing and service was for CHIT. Obviously others say different things. I ended up renewing with AIG, but have learned over the past few years that you just gotta do some legwork (or fingerwork) at every renewal. I had progressive for a while because it was after some serious legal issues with my driving record *blush* and then once my last "issue" went off my record, they refused to drop my rates to a competitive level because they said they "knew about the points on my record from previous policies" so could not go to a lower rate based on my now "point-free" DMV report. BullSHAT! Anyway, back to AIG.
I will probably review things again in April when that policy comes due. AAA (or SoCal Auto Club as it's know hereabouts) seems to be able to give me a yearly rate that is only a couple hundred more than my semi-annual rate from AIG. I just didn't have a clean enough record to go to AAA before now *blush*.
There are ALOT of sites out there that offer reviews of the insurance companies, but unfortunately, like most other complaint/kudo sites, only the pissed off people feel like posting an opinion, so you gotta kinda take it all with a grain of salt.

You should have heard GEICO crying when I called them to cancel.
They told me I had tenure.
Have you ever heard of 'tenure' with an insurance company?
The lady said, "But, sir you been with us over 25 years, why are you leaving?".
With deadpan delivery I said, "It's because of your commercial."
"I had my genalogy study done and I went way back, I found that I am related to the Caveman."
The line was silent for a full 10 seconds.
She finally started laughing.
Anyway my Geico six month premium was increasing and USAA beat them.

GEICO was expensive when I was in Killeen.
I had Farmers fron 1991 - 2005. I'd had one claim (someone broke in my car, so I needed the glass replaced), of which they only paid $47.00, the other $250 came from Hip-Pocket National Bank (Side glass)
4 months later, we were adding a 3rd car "Civic". I was already paying $197.00/month for 2 (F-150 / Expedition), I'm thinking adding the 3rd wouldn't be that bad, after all, its a sedan and 4 cylinders. It was gonna be $344.00/month. I said, that's adding $150.00, damn near what I pay for 2 trucks!!
She said some BS... "We have a lot of trucks in Dallas, and if that car gets hit, it'll likely be totaled... That's why we charge so much..." I said, "You guys have a reason for everything... Trucks are high because of theft, SUV's because of rollovers & neck injuries..."
So, I was gonna have to pay it, we had the car already... Wife used to be an Adjuster at GEICO in North Dallas, so she called them- almost same price as Farmers...
I called went to the Progressive web site...
Got all three cars covered, same levels, 100/300 , and got it for $192.00/month...
$5.00 LESS to cover 3 cars than I was paying Farmers for 2 cars...
Now, with three 2006's, one being a highly stolen F150, the other being a 4x4 (Thats what insurance considers it), and the other a passenger car, I pay $214/month for all three.
2 claims on my record.
1: Farmers, Feb 2005: Theft (Broken side glass)
2. Progressive: Apr. 2006, Vandalism (Lil' bastards were breaking folks windshields out; got 31 cars)
Needless to say, I rolled out on Farmers, effective immediately.
Fortunately, my next 6 months had only begun 6 days earlier... I don't know if they would have tried to screw me out of 6 more payments...

I made the switch to from progressive to geico about 2 years ago. Save me a bunch by switching to geico.
I get a new policy every 6 months, and it is always cheaper than the one before, for the exact same coverage. That was with my Jeep Wrangler, once i got my truck, my policy only went up like 20-40 bucks a month, for the Jeep and Truck, full coverage. My policy just ended though, so im gonna give USAA a call before i renew.
