Iowa State University....

I'm going to Iowa State University in a few weeks (March 2 - 4th), is there anything special I should do while I'm up there? Anybody close by? I'll be staying at the Sigma Chi up there....

QFT! You'll be hanging with frat guys, so take full advantage. That us, unless they're the obligatory "loser" frat on campus.

Nah, we bring the party with us (read: booze). Girls are on the list. Just making sure there isn't anything else up there I need to do...

Dude, with the lack of poon-tang that goes on down in Rolla, all you need to do be worried about is being on the prowl for a little something-something!

I remember back in the day when I went to an engineering school (that had a similar lack of the fairer sex) what it was like to visit a buddy of mine who attended a state university with a large Elementay Education department (read -- all women!). I felt like a Black Lab that had finally been let free of his leash in the park, if you know what I mean......

Keyword - *** IOWA ***

Key Time Of Year - *** WINTER ***

Interpretation - Dream on, kid. Get someone to buy you a bottle of booze and hope that you can get someone to drink it with you. As a result of the booze, she might manage to get out the 8 layers of clothes that she had to don that morning to keep from turning into a Cyclone that was stored in the deep freeze.

As a side note -- the Women's basketball team is ranked in the top 10. I'm sure that'd be an exciting event to attend...

I don't think that'll be a problem... it's 28 guys from a drinking town with a school problem. I'm driving (luckily), and my truck will be booze free while moving. However, I've been hearing some things about what some of the guys are planning for the trip up (Pony Kegs, Everclear, etc). It's gonna be a crazy trip. I've seen pics from the previous walkouts, and they're nuts.

Oh yeah, DD, up at home, there is a school (Lindenwood University) which has a girl/guy ratio of like 3 to 1. Most of them are cheerleaders or dancers too... And the guys here wonder why I go home so much.

Also, did you know that Iowa State's ROTC unit was named as the TOP UNIT for the Western United States?

You should don your combat boots and march around with them in 8 layers of clothing. Sounds like a swell time to me...

Iowa State is in Ames right? You could go take a tour of the John Deere Plant in Waterloo, the home of the 7000, 8000, & 9000 series tractors, I was up there once and it was pretty cool

Yes it's in Aimes. I was thinking something more along the lines of restaurants, bars for the older guys, etc.

I was offered a job at their Dubuque facility (Construction & Forestry Division) about 1.25 years ago (they make all the Crawlers/Backhoes & Skid Steer equipment)... I hear that the Waterloo plant is interesting.
