Suspension Lowering (Plano/Dallas Area)

I'm seriously considering putting some attitude in our F-150 when my bonus check comes in. Attitude such as:

Flowmaster or Borla SIDO
Grill
K&N Air system

But, I have never had my trucks lowered before. I think the changes I have in mind woudl be even nicer if my truck's butt wasn't so high.

I've been considering a 2" (Front) 4" (Rear) drop, and I've seen the kits in managzines for a decent price. Do you guys in the area know of or can recommend a shop to get this work done?

I think the Buck-Fifty will look sweeter on my 20's in there wasn't enough wheel well remaining to store a fire extinguisher under it.

I'd just level it. But, that's just me.

If you like the look, hey bro, it's your rig, right?

BTW, PM sent....

I think you might be able to get 3'' in the back with shackels alone on newer F150s. That would set you back about $150 including labor. If you want to do the hangers too probably another $200.

For the front I assume just springs for about $250 including labor and align.

You could just drop the back first and see if that's good enough.

I was planning on both but once I leveled the back on my '98 I called it good enough.

I'd have to look at the magazine to be sure, but I've seen "Complete Kits" for like $549.99, and I would bet the labor would be another $250 on top of that.

But, if I can go cheap, and get shackles and get a decent look, I'd go for that... $150 beats teh hell out of $850 where I come from. If I can get low for $150, that woudl let me get the grill, pipes, and ventshades for what I was gonna pay for the lowerign kit alone.

Good looking out DOC!

shackles alone will level the rear out to as low as front is, and are very easy to install

but really depends on how low you want to go

I can't STAND lifted 4 x 4 trucks...

(Except for a few I've seen on this board... And I've given them their pros, publicly)

Besides, you can still load the bed of a lowered truck with stuff.

Most of the guys I see with lifted trucks are all under 5'6", so I'd like to see them throw a snicker bar into the bed of their trucks, let alone a sofa and a love seat.

I used the Ground Force kit to drop the rear 2". Really helps to get rid of all that open space in the rear.

If I didn't need the extra ground clearance (on jobsites) I would have slammed the chit outta my truck and put chrome on it.
