To all of you skinny guys who want to get bigger, trust me the key is Grams of "PROTEIN", taken in during the course of your day. Try eating at least 6-7 smaller meals a day spaced out in 3 hour intervals. If you want your muscles to grow you must feed them more Protein!!! When I was 16Yrs old I weighed 140LBS, wanted to get bigger for football, my senior year I weighed 180Lbs. Right now I am 5'10" & weigh 210 LBs of solid muscle, I have competed in two Natural Bodybuilding Comps, my last one I placed 2nd. Workout & feed the body protein, trust me it works!!!

My goal isn't to be the worlds strongest man. My goal is to have a nice tight cut body that makes the girls stare. I just want to look good and feel good.

Since the last time I posted my maxs' went up to.

Bench:140
Squat:145
Deadlift:205 (streight bar)
Power Clean:140

Im wishing that I could bump my bench max up to about 225 by the beginning of next school year. That gives me the rest of this simester and the summer. If I pump the iron hard and stay heavy on the protein is this possible. I just love the look of benching two 45lb weights on each side of the bar. Also, I lift in my schools conditioning class. Question, I am skinny but I have a lot of belly fat. My abs are hardely visible. Any tips on helping this. Thanx.

I am into nutrition and working out but I came down with lyme disease in late 2005 and have been battling it since! but I am getting better and should be well by the end of this year. Anyways, my doctor is the same doctor for Lance Armstrong and his bike team. He has told me alot about working out and nutrition since he is treating me for my lyme disease. He said all protein powders are crap! The only one *only* that is somewhat worthy is Muscle Milk by the way it is made and processed. It is as close to organic as possible and is not denatured as badly from the pasterazation process.

If you want to get big, Do heavy weight/low number of reps.
If you want to get cut, Do low weight/high number of reps.

Well I think I have a new workout now...On Mondays I usually bench, tuesday- squat, wednesday- military, thurs- powerclean.

Well Now on wednesday I do my sets for military then once I'm done I go to the squat rack and put the support bars just right so when I bench my arms are at 90 degrees. So I do wide and close grip with like starting at 135 then add a 10 on each side and do reps of 10. Once I'm done I do curls. Start out with a 10 on each side and do a set of 10, then add a 5 and do a set of 10 then take the 5 off do a set, add the 5 do a set and so on untill I can't hardly lift my arms.

I thought I might try for the 500 squat tonight. But no. I barely got 455....a dismal performance. Perhaps I should take up water polo.....

My dad says that I will not be able to go from 140 bench to 225 bench by the start of next school year, and I think he is right. I mean that is 85 pounds in 5 months. Anyone think that this is possible. Also, what do you think about lifting while taking Amino Acid Pills.

You generally see some pretty good gains in the first year or two of lifting. Eventually the law of diminishing returns will slow the rate at which you gain.

85 pounds in five months is quite a jump but not impossible. You should also be doing other core lifts such as squats, dead lifts, and inclines and declines. You can switch to dumbbells occasionally for variety as well.

The amino acid (protein) pills I’ve seen seem to be expensive for the amount of protein you get. If you are trying to gain weight too check out some weight gain/protein drinks.

When my dad was lifting he saw some great results with amino acids. O, and I do the other core lifts, in my school conditioning class this is our workout.

Monday-Squat
Tuesday-Power Clean
Wendsday-Conditioning.....Running, stadiums, ab workout, sprints, exc.
Thursday-Deadlift
Friday-Bench
Sat/Sun-Rest

and every lifting day we do auxilory lifts (or however you spell it), that consist of Dips, Chinups, Curls, exc. I would like to gain some major mass over summer so I can go back to school and shock people with the change . I would like to get bulked up and big, but I would also like to stay cut where you can see the muscles (if this is possible to have both mass and definition in the muscles). Also can anyong help with my belly fat problem I stated in my previouse posts.

Can anyone give me a great workout for the summer when school is out. I need kind of a GUIDE.

Why not?

Anyway this is max week and monday I benched and yesterday I squated. In bench I put up 225 and squat I put up 355. So I went up 15 in bench and 20 in squat. Plus being around 180 now I should be able to lift 4x my body weight easily. Now I need to work on like sit ups and stuff and do some curls everyday.

Well here are my new maxes:

Bench: 225
Squat: 355
Clean: 181
Military: 160

I weighted in at 178 so the three maxes that count (1st three) total 761 so I lift like 4.2 x my body wieght. I think thats pretty impressive. I still need to work my arms some.
