... and if you were in IT you'd have known the extra $20 to get one would be a huge bang-for-your-buck deal. Nice try. Not only is your card revoked but I just sent it through the shredder...

Vader, my coffee needs a refill.

I should also add the congrats on the A+ thing. Vader is right, it shows some motivation to advance yourself. That's a good thing. Keep learning, training, and move up the cert food chain until you don't need 'em anymore.
i was not saying i think we still be using win 95 just it kernel. most computers still run the nt kernel (windows xp) the nt kernel come out in 1993 i think. i dont know is there a new kernel with vista? what do you think my next step should be as far as certifications what pays the best ? im more in to hardware

Well heck you wanna talk old kernels look at Unix/Linux... Each new O/S, regardless of who it is builds off the last one. There are very few all-new jumps. The last one was the jump from OS9 to OSX on the mac... THAT was all-new.

Pure hardware doesn't pay. You gotta find a nitche you like and go after it. Networking pays well, but it will be 5-7 years before you hit the big-time fat cash. Security is big. Or go software and be a Linux/Unix engineer. It all depends what you like and what you think you'll be happy with.

Cisco....

I had Microsoft certs and let them go, they aren't worth crap anyhow.

I'll be finishing my Cyber-Forensics degree from Hopkins by year's end....it won't be worth diddly crap as well.

So I'm starting the Cisco track and hope to max at the CISSP.

Good luck with your track...they suck
