Any guitar players here?
I am also a new guitar player, or lack there of lol. I know most of the main chords but I have trouble strumming. I strum to the song I am playing and it sounds horrible. Its every song I try and it is getting very frustrating. Any suggestions on what to do or any tips on a way to make it sound better?
Thanks

I've been playing a little over a year now, and while I ain't Eric Clapton, I'm getting better every day. Go find you some guitar playing buddies to jam with, there's not a lot better than playing with other musicians, getting another pair of ears to listen to you and suggest to play it this way, or try this or that.
And freakin' rock on.
I've been playing in and out of bands since I was about 12 years old, so I guess around 13-14 years. I don't have the time to devote to a band anymore, but I still play one of my guitars every day. I don't see me ever laying it down for good. It's also a great stress reliever to crank it loud and belt out some METAL!! I have several different guitars, but my favorite is probably my most recent buy. An ESP LTD EC-1000 Deluxe in Vintage Black. It comes with all kinds of cool bells and whistles and I'm loving these active pickups. (EMG 81/85)
I played bass for many years in 60s-70s with a handful of garage bands. Started with a Silvertone my parents bought me in Jr. Hi - later moved up (?) to a Apollo - a Japanese knock off of the famous McCartney Hofner. While not an expensive guitar, it is somewhat rare and very hard to find. I still have mine and still play it occasionally.
I've also got a Brooks & Dunn autographed Takemine acoustic that's never been played. Have a real cravin (reliving my youth?) to buy an acoustic and learn 6-string but not sure at 55 if I'm past my prime?
I prefer a short scale base and if I can quit spending money on my truck I might buy a guitar, but I've also always wanted a short scale Gibson or Fender bass.
