Pro Wrestling is a shadow of it's former self. I can't go back as far as Blue but I can remember Hulk Hogan powering out of the Camel Clutch to beat the Iron Sheik. Wow that was great. I was a kid in the 80s so Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper, Super Fly Snuka, Andre the Giant....those were my favorites. Today its the same tired stories used over and over and they throw in sex to liven it up. I can't watch it with my kids. In fact I flipped it on a few weeks back and noticed they had brought back Degeneration X...AGAIN!! Come on...

I remember when Andre the Giat first hit the scene. He was so scary. Ever heard of Chief Wahoo McDanial? He was an Indian, played pro football and wrestled.

Yep...I know him. I had "baseball" cards and he was one of them. I don't know if I saw him wrestle or not. He had the big feather head dress right?

Yes and did a little dance in the ring. Hoping for rain, I guess. He was a lineman in the NFL.

One of the all time greats was Lou Thes or Thez. I saw him live, when he was so old he could barely get between the ropes.

Ahhhh -- the good old days of Vern Gagne, his son Greg Gagne, Da' Crusher, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, Mad Dog Vashon (sp?)......

I tried explaining the odd mix of athletics and competition and entertainment that is Pro Wrestling to an old girlfriend of mine who was from Finland -- she just couldn't understand it......

Well I've spent a few minutes strolling down wrestling's memory lane via wikipedia....I kind of wish that it was clean enough to let my boy watch...I had fun with that stuff.

Wrestling used to be so much fun to watch. I remember the Ultimate Warrior and King Kong Bundy and Randy Macho Man Savage with Elizabeth. Those were the good ole days. Todays wrestling is stupid. They forgot who their audience is.

I agree...those were the days....and your right, some of the crap they show is a waste of air-time.....BUT, it's a sopa opera, and I enjoy it as much as I enjoy House.

It still has it's good stuff, but it does have a bunch of slow boring crap.
