www.alienware.com

Dell would be my next choice then HP if its was cheaper than dirt and loaded.

I bought a compaq for my wife a few months ago for less than $500, but she isn't very hard on them and doesnt require much computing power, basically an internet machine with word processing and email.....

the hardware on her compaq has been alright so far but it's only a few months old, battery life sucks on it..... we havent installed any programs that didnt come with it on it. Yet I still have to do all kinds of maintence to keep it running and connected to the internet.....

My Dell desktop I bought that same week, I have punished it with software, testing scripts and beta software, yet it doesnt even glitch.... yet. Time is coming I am punishing it hard. But I can't blame it when it does, it's taken it very well.

Those alienwares look interesting. What makes you like them so much? Dependability? Price/performance? Quality?

Would something like their lowest model Sentia still be better all around than say a mid level Dell or something? Or is that kind of comparing apples to oranges?

I'd put thier low end to be equal to or above Dells high end.

The dependability, the overall quality, and the customer service is suppose to be unserpassed. I have not owned one yet, as the price is a deterent.... but the ones I know who have love them and can't go back.

Awsome, thanks for the info. You've always helped me greatly when it come to computers, I appreciate it.

If I end up with one I will be sure to come brag about it to you

The ice storm has started here!!!!!!

Grass is all covered and everything off the ground is all covered in about a 1/4" of ice. It's so pretty, but it's dark so cant take any pics and show it..... I will take some in the am.

Pray you dont end up like us 3+inchs of ice on the north side of everything, and no power for days. Sucked I could have seriously ice skated down the gravel roads and out on my lawn.

Fun to slide around on the ice though.

We're going to get the ice here tomorrow. The cold front is already in DFW, just a matter of time now.
