Buddy has one he uses on all his vehicles, I think he said his was like $300.
I'd definatly put a lock on that thing and probably still get stolen, but I like they heftyness they lend to the looks.
It was around 180.00 maybe. I put a lock on it since the picture.
Pics just for you...

Oh god thats funny right there.
When i was shopping for a new truck, it had to be a 4x4 and have the tow package with the 5.4.
this is why.......

I also leave the hitch on to keep tailgaters at bay in the rush hour traffic.
it looks worse now, this pic was taken over 2 years ago.

The tow package was on the truck when we bought it. So far it's been used to tow - my husbands '68 Bronco from north Idaho to Valdez, Alaska - our Yamaha Grizzly on it's trailer around town, from Valdez to Juneau, Alaska and from Juneau to north Idaho - our Ranger pickup from Seattle to north Idaho and then, once we bought the house, to our house - and most recently - to tow a U-Haul auto transport trailer with my husbands newest toy, a 1941 Ford 9N tractor with a back blade that he's going to use for clearing snow out of the driveway!

Only towing I've done is a U-Haul when I moved from Alberta to BC. About a year ago I made this third (fourth?) brake light myself. I used the mount you would bolt a pintle hook to and inserted clear led's. They are in two sets of four so the left four work with the left t/s and the right four work with the right t/s so they also function as a brake light. I got the mount free from work so cost was under 10.00 for some led's, resistors and a 4-way plug. The little plastic housings for the leds were a bit small for the holes so I beat some 5/16 locknuts into theholes and drilled them to size. Once the lights and resistors were all soldered together I covered everything on the backside with black silicone. The leds are clear but shine red. It actually came out kind of nice and so far I've not seen another one like it and have had some nice comments on it.

My truck has the tow package, but the hitch is sitting in the garage. I never tow with the F150, hell, the F150 cant tow...
Thats what the '96 and '03 3/4HD Chevy's are for
At least that reciever hitch has saved my bumper a time or two...all it was ever good for.
