semi drivers
i know a few drivers at work. they haul heavy equipment, most needing permits and flag escorts. they like it and i guess they are happy with the pay.
i don't think they would like to be a line haul trucker.

there is an *** load of money to be made doing long haul. I personally dont do long haul, it is not for me. I like to be home every night. average pay for long haul depends upon how far you are willing to go. Figure about 2 dollars per mile. New trucks go for about 100K to 115K. Factor in gas, and other matience expenses. you should be in the 1000 pluss catagory per week minimum.

If you drive truck, your gonna get fat! That is if you eat out on the road all the time. This is not counting the health problems associated with poor eating habits. I've driven truck from Detroit to Pennsylvania and it was o.k. It got boring driving across Ohio. You can make alot of $ driving, but you need to be on time and dependable. The guys that hustle and don't whine get the good routes.
I drive a Tri-axle constuction dump truck locally pay is not bad plus I only work 9 months out of the year. We haul stone and asphalt. Our lease drivers own their own truck and are making like $60.00 per hour.
