semi drivers
If you are interested you might check to see if there are any truck driving schools in your area and go ahead and get your CDL. I got mine at an area community college that had a driving course.
I drove long haul for a few years while I was laid off from my factory job about 20 years ago. I made good money but was out for weeks at a time. Made it into 45 of the lower 48 States. It was a good experience but not something I wanted to make a career out of.

My cousin owns a short haul trucking company, mostly hauling beans, corn and hay for farmers. If he ever gets in a pinch I will help out when I can. He has 5 trucks, 2 of which have fulltime guys driving them, the third is usually driven by 2 different part timers (his dad and grandfather) and the other 2 are basically only used in the spring to take grain to the mill and during harvest. He pays his full timers $15.00 it doesn't matter if they are driving or sitting, they are still getting paid, plus they are home everynight and get 2 weeks paid vacation.
My father just retired from being an owner of a small excavating company. He had a tandamn axle dump, I know that he was charging $65.00/hour. And once in awhile he would get hired onto state jobs, then he was making anywhere from $85-105 depending on what they where hauling and how far. He really like the state jobs!!
