Yep, and if you try and be helpful by explaining that it kills system resources, they sometimes get offended.

Man, I'm just trying to help. So, I'd just send them to this link ... and tell em to have fun.

At the time, there was a free basic computer course at the high school for adults one evening a week...

This idgot instructor was telling the people who went to this "class" (using the term lightly), not to disable anything, tha tit was hard on teh computer, just to leave it all running......

I could still smack him for that.... Needless to say I didn't refer anyone to that class, we started our own shortly afterwards....

I've been doing this for close to 7 years.
I'm in a similar company. Well obviously, im in Canada and we only have RR in a few provinces here, none of which are B.C.

7 years? You must be the most layed back person ever to put up with this. Mind you, I didn't get cranky until TW decided to take on an extra 3,000,000 customers without actually knowing what they were doing or hiring extra agents to take the call volume.
I started in Dec. '02, worked for 8 months, went to China, came back a year later and got rehired Sept '04 and will work here until they finish paying for my schooling in 2.5 years.

Hell, I'll tell a story, but instead of going back and finding the best one, ill just tell you about the one im doing right now.
I counted 8 times. 8 times I had to read a licence key back to this person to install our security software.

I got one...

I'm waiting in line at the paint counter of Home Depot. I needed a can of the exact same color I already had from several years ago or usually I shop Lowes. The illiterate dumb *** female working the counter gives the guy ahead of me his can but forgets to mentions the lid is not secured, just sitting on the top of the can. The guy grabs the can and splat, paint everywhere. Obviously, the guy is freaking pissed, he's got paint all over him & I got a few drops on my shoes. He asks to see the manager and the manager is just about useless. The "I don speakle da ingish so good" waste of O2 female has the nerve to get mad at the two of us for being mad at her. I told the manager that this illiterate piece of human garbage should be fired on the spot & the manager told me to (direct quote) "mind your own f$$king business". Needless to say, 10% Military discount or no, I'm not shopping HD any more.

Just once, I wish a company would put some training or oversight into the hiring & firing of employees.

I would have looked him in the eye and said I come in this store and leave with damage to my property caused by negligence of your employee... I think it is my business... Either we can resolve this or I will go over your head and call home office to get resolution plus suggest your job be evaluated too for poor customer service.... There are plenty of witnesses here and one other that has been affected by the negligence, He and I can exchange information and file a joint complaint on this incident.... What happens next is your choice.

If I did not leave when I did, I probably would have punched him in the throat. I did throw some choice phrases his way & most assuredly the manager was involved since the other guy wanted new clothes. He had a much better case than I & he heard what the paint section manager said to me. I figured I'd let him deal with it. Why should I waste my time when I have painting to do?

On a side note, I have pretty much no remaining faith in the human race. I sincerely would not have cared if the store burned down behind me. Like I said, waste of O2...

You've got to be kidding right? A locking lug nut key? If that can ruin your day you need to find a less stressful job.

what he was looking wasn't the problem it was HIS attitude and grasp of reality that this was more important than anything in the world like the other customers i was selling whole exhaust or brakes too on my other phone lines, would put him on hold and come back he was like "please help me or i'll die without this" type attitude.
