Wink

Good call Kool Aid. Let me know how you like it will ya? I am looking to get the 42 inch version early next year for myself.

As for straggleweed, ok man...guess I'll take your word for it. Just go let the rest of the AV world know they are wrong for me, k?

I have two acquaintances that both install and sell home theatre equipment as a second job, and have been doing it for YEARS. both have home theatres worth more than most of our trucks cost new.

What do BOTH of them run in their own bedrooms? (ie secondary theatre), Panasonic Plasma. These guys LIVE home theatre... and they choose it for themselves. That tells you sometying. and I actually came to the conclusion that Panasonic Plasma TVs were the BEST bang for the buck/performing TV under $2,000 on the market BEFORE I asked either of them.

Check out what they think...yes, only one source, but lots of great info there.

And again, I agree Pioneer makes some GREAT Plasma TVs, but we are talking an ENTIRELY different price range with those Elites. For a normal consumer, 90%+ out there will tell you that Panasonic is the undisputed champion for HDTV. But hey, I already have mine, I could care less what you get...go see for yourself!

Well I'm no TV Expert so I go off of my research and my eyes.

I'm very pleased with my Sony LCD XBR. The high-def is great and the regular picture pretty good too. (hard to watch standard def now)

My kid will play a video game, pause it and go outside and play something. I'll come by an hour later and see Mario frozen in mid jump. That worried be regarding a plasma.

Yeah Sony makes some great LCD TVs (They pulled out of the plasma market and focused on LCD).

As for Plasma burn-in? Not anymore... Panasonic is on their 9th generation of plasma and the old problems have all but been worked out.

I used to play games for 6 hours straight (Need for Speed) that kept an icon in the same spot the entire time- no burn in.

I didn't say Elite. I said Pioneer. Elites are a whole different ball game. Yes the regular Pioneers are a bit more, but the image quality, contrast and black levels are awesome. Sure Panosonics are nice and offer excellent value, but why not pony up another $500 and get the best?

I just picked up a 60" Sony SXRD. I've only seen it at the showroom, but that thing had better clarity than any LCD, DLP and the majority of the plasma's there. The salespeople really talked it up as well. I'm building the wall for it to be flush mounted in on Saturday, and will hopefully be able to start enjoying it! It's got teh 1080p Full HD and lots of plug in's for all sorts of goodies.

I got it during a 1 day sale for $1999. A thousand bucks off the normal price.
