Ok ya'll......apparently Nextel's ringtone site is down (never worked......go figure.....sprint....nextel.....both are crap).......

.....anyhow.......word on the web says that you can download ringtones to the 7100i.......but I have tried both via email and mms.....but have not had any luck........anyone have a 7100i......anyone know what I can do?......

.....all I want is a damn normal sounding phone ring........

The classic ring tone rocks my world. Should be built into the phone.

Anywho, the 7100i can only handle MIDI or those crappy polymorphic or whatever ring tones.

On a side note, I think I'll be scrapping my 7100i shortly for the uber sexy 8100 (aka: Pearl). Its hella-cool.

If you have CD burning software on your system, like Roxio or Nero, a lot of times they have software as part of the package that will convert to different formats.

All the info you could ever need... http://www.blackberryforums.com/

I can't recall the program I used in the past, most of the time I was able to just download what I wanted in the format I wanted. There is also a ton of good info on the 7100i and blah blah blah.

I used to rely on the PTT alot but slowly everyone started to scrap nextel. Now I rarely use it. I don't think I'll miss it. Plus thanks to corporate discounts the Pearl is dirt cheap.

Google the exact phrase "wav to midi". You will get a lot of hits. Unfortunately I can't look at them here at work. Lousy access denied.

You still have not learned. (It took me a long time but I finally did). Getting the latest and greatest toy gets you nothing (other than broke).

I remember when that 7100 gave you a constant hard-on and it was "hella-cool", and now you can't wait to get the 8100.

So what did that 7100 get you? Nothing really, as will the 8100. It's nice and shiny fun for a bit and then you'll want to junk it for the 9100, and so on and so forth.

There will always be something you have to have. The new and improved will always be on the doorstep.

All you end up doing is riding a rollercoaster of glee then disappointment and in the end what you acquired really amounts to zip. That's a lot of wasted emotion, energy, time and money.

Go buy a simple phone that's works and stick with it. After about 8 months 2 to 3 models will have come and gone and your life will not have been affected by it one iota. (Not to mention you'll save a ton of money).

OK, lecture over. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to do my Zen mediatation, eat some sprouts, and get in touch with a higher source.

Nothing but love for ya D.

:santa:

Don't burst my bubble Kobi. This month has been a good gadget month. A nice new X-box 360 with all the trimmings, a Denon 2.1 surround setup for the plasma, and now a Pearl.

I've been a good boy this year, have no jewelry or other crap to buy so the money gets spent on me. It's all about me. Anywho... I enjoy wasting stuff.

Plus I'm helping out the economy and keeping people working. Without me Little Timmy might not get that new skateboard or be able to supersize his Happy Meal since daddy's commission check was a little light for the month.

Here's a quote from my book:

"Wanting is always better than getting."

also read the tag under my Xmas sig.

However . . . go have fun. The best way to learn is experientially.

....I now have native PDF capability............

...................now if only Nextel(Sprint) could get their schitt together and develop a good network with 3G capability.....I might just consider getting rid of my Cingular account.......but more than likely those ******** will never figure out a way to make that happen........
