this should be a multipart question.
sorry but if you are not married (or divorced) and have no kids then if you arent debt free, dont get married or have kids.
before i got married i had plenty of cash, cars were payed for, down payed 10% down on a house, bought a wedding ring, furnished a house and payed for honeymoon to Hawaii and still had money in the bank, 6 months of marriage fixed all of that. however i do befieve that getting into debt and then digging out on your own at a young age is a good thing, because it sux and you never want to be there again.
At age 40 with 2 kids i am debt free except for my house. 25 to 35 was a different story.

I know that the biggest reason I'm sitting pretty well off
is that after my regular job 8-5 pulling wrenches
I found other jobs I could do for cash evenings and weekends
built a few write offs etc.
one can almost never save himself to be rich by working for
wages 8 -5
mitch

This thread should have been called...."Who's Well Off?" I'm glad to hear so many of you are doing so well, but I would guarantee that most Americans have debt. I have debt...it's minimal, but I have it. I'm all for saving and making a better life for yourself, but why work 2 or 3 jobs when you've got to be too exhausted to enjoy any of it? Afterall, any one of us could die tomorrow...and then what? All for nothing?
Absolutely nothing wrong with being in debt. Some act as if its a dirty word but its not, its called life my friends and those of you in debt don't feel bad, its reality and part of life. Being debt free is great but its not reality, sure there are a lucky few but their not the norm...
If you can't save 10% your not living within your means LMMFAO
That's a bunch of crap right there because most of us, like me, are forking out more then 10% for the useless and lazy in this country who have NO right to survive by TAKING MY money...
I know that may sound a "bit" harsh but if they all died tomorrow I would be debt free...

Sounds smart huh????
Yea I'm not.......
Will I regret not investing?
or
Will I regret not borrowing?
I can't decide between the two, so I do both.
Sometimes I can borrow the money and leave my other money where it is and get a higher ROTI on it than what I pay out on the loan.......
