I recorded the show last night and I'm just now getting a chance to watch some of it. I didn't think Carrie Underwood's performance was very good at all. Brad Paisley on the other hand put on a kick *** show. He is something else on the guitar.

George did a great job which is expected. Brad did an awesome job as usual, Carrie didn't sound that great but in her defense that was not a concert hall for good acoustics. Faith was very pissed, I will not believe that was a joke. Miranda has recently (past 12 mo.) put some "road weight" on. She used to be a firecraker. I'd still hit it. If ya'll ate fast food and beer every day for a year I'm sure there'd be a few extra pounds. I heard about her a couple years ago before the Nashville Star thing. I still have a few friends in TX and let me in on her. Here is a pic on her album Kerosene that came out early 05:

I didn't know that the quality of country music was based on looks now. So far, I think Miranda has given one of the better performances. She has a nice live voice and didn't rely on backup singing like some of the other performers. I thought the guitar smashing was dumb though and one of her guitarists looked rediculous with that mohawk. The Wreckers are not country. Kenny Chesney didn't sound all too great, neither did Rascal Flatts or Dierks Bentley. Faith and Josh Turner did a nice job though. George Strait and Alan Jackson were, well George Strait and Alan Jackson. Kieth Urban shouldn't have won Male Vocalist of the Year, he wasn't even at the ceremony.

I agree totally. There should be some kind of clause that says if you are in rehab you can't win.

No doubt, what a sissy! Definitely unfit to hang with Charlie Daniels, Willie Nelson, George Jones or any other of those old school country legends that would've p***ed in their own beer before checking in to a rehab joint. Did they stop giving whiskey to babies to help them sleep or somethin'? Rehab. Poo.

The CMAs aint worth a damn; for that matter most of the music that comes from Nashvegas aint worth two woops in hell. Anymore if you want good country music it comes from Austin, Texas. Last week I had the good fortune to see Micky and the Motorcars and Jason Boland and the Stragglers play in one of the local bars. If you don't know who either of these bands are look them up and see just how good music really can be

Well, I do believe I did recommend Mickey and the Motorcars a while back. May go see ray Wylie again tomorrow night, if not then, then the next sat night. never get too much Ray Wylie. Tomorrow night, he has Hayes Caryl with him. That should be a good show.

Boland was up here in Lawrence, KS last weekend. Other commitments kept me from attending however. I think it was he a few years ago that played in Manhattan, KS one time on a flatbed 18-wheeler parked in front of Rusty's - one of many bars in an area affectionately know as Aggieville to Manhattanites.

I'm a fan of Micky and The Motorcars. Believe it or not their CD is in my player right now.

Cross Canadian Ragweed is coming up my way Nov 29. Can't wait
