Angry Kerry On the troops

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061031/...te_house_kerry

I'm so glad this ashat didn't get in the White House. With the opinion that only the stupid go into the military he needs to lose his job. Personally my IQ is of the genius level (not that it means much) and I served.

I doubt very much that Kerry was "troop bashing" as the GOP would suggest. It's also pretty weak that the GOP would stoop this low. But not surprising.101 dead this month and no light at the end of the tunnel. This is a war that can't be won. The numbers are proving it. Our Military leaders in the field also say it is out of control. Iraq should have another vote to decide whether we should stay or leave.

Maybe we should put it on the ballot. Those in favor of the war can go and those opposed can stay.

I love how yahoo spins even that in kerry's favor..sigh. All the liberal news does is report anything and everything with bold titles bashing the gop, and then when kerry does something wrong they make the title imply the white house is doing something wrong. hilarious

God bless liberal America!

IRAQ is FUBARed and I hold Bush accountable but Kerry is an idiot for those comments...

I mean come on..."If you don't get educated you'll end up in Iraq". It doesn't take a genius to draw the line to the current kids "stuck" in Iraq...are they stupid too? Not in my book but Kerry said it so let him take some flack for it.

The thinking sure has changed on this war hasn't it? If you read the posts when it started there were quite a few for it. How do they feel now I wonder?

After sitting through and listening to the debate in the UN security counsel as it was happening, I'm still for the war. If we leave now all of the lost lives will be in vain. If anybody remembers news clips from a couple years ago the various news agencies went to India, Pakistan and various other countries we had left because the American people felt we did not need to be there. The end result was more hatred for our country. The locals said they thought we had abandoned them. The same feelings will manifest in Iraq if we leave before we are asked to go by their government or the job is done. Look at Germany we, along with our allies, destroyed their country and we still haven't left.

I took it to mean educated about the war and why we shouldn't be there. You are saying that he meant and implied that the if you don't go to college then you are going to Iraq. Although this may be true I don't think for a minute this is what he meant. The Republicans are trying to brainwash why we should be there and Kerry is trying to educate people as to why we shouldn't be there.

It sucks for those who may have died in vein. But if we screwed up we should admit it, fix it and leave. I'm not putting the blame on Bush either bcause I supported the war in Iraq for the reasons told to me. Iraq was a terrorist training ground for Osama and they had WMDs that we thought were a threat to our security. We were wrong. We made a mistake and now we should leave instead of making excuses why we should stay. The only winners in this war are the corporations who are making money from it.

You are smarter than I thought. All that and you wear sandals, sun glasses and ear rings.

That thinking made Vietnam last longer than it should have. I don't have an answer but staying the course sure ain't working.

I think he meant the latter. The military is typically made up of lower income individuals and thus they typically have less formal education. He knows what he meant and I don't think it was your first suggestion.

EDIT: Left the above for integrity but as I state later...I too was too quick to judge...and 6 was correct. It just didn't make sense and last night I looked into it.

Not mine...I was against it before, during and I'll be against it afterwards.

We can't expect our system of government and culture to thrive in Iraq. Years from now we'll have some diplomatic way of backing out leaving the place in a mess. We can't fix it...it is a cultural thing...not a military one.

I believe this is a case of a person meaning one thing and saying something slightly different. Now the GOP is trying to twist it into something it never was... In that we use the same excuse for Debuya on almost a weekly basis (saying something different then he meant to say) it is pretty humerous to see the republicans stooping this low..

knowing Kerry's background, i wouldn't put it past him to say this and mean it.

In a position as a public speaker he should be careful what he say knowing it can be twisted.

but anyway it does sound like he was implying that they are ignorant/uneducated.

weather he meant it or not, he should make an apology to the people who he offended, the troops.

He said what he meant, and meant to start crap by saying it. If he misspoke, then why hasn't he simply apologized for the misunderstanding? He doesn't need to apologize for his position, or his disdain for the GOP. But for a comment that is blatantly offensive when taken at face value, he should apologize, and clarify what he really meant. I'd like to see Bush and Kerry both take a long walk on a short pier.

I think everyone has turned in to a bunch of MPH's...

Sitting around crying about what someone said, or what needs to be done while the country continues to go down the ****ter...

I don't have the answer, and maybe someone does, but nothing will ever get done, because someone will be pissed off that it might work, and it wasn't their idea, or they can't profit from it.

I don't care what Kerry or Bush said... Sticks and stones may break my bones...

WAAAHHHH!
