Except maybe on a short track like Bristol.

I agree that NASCAR should NOT allow any teams. Personally I am tired of teams especially when one teammate pulls over to let another one lead a lap for 5 bonus points. I don’t mind the drafting partners because that has always gone on, teams or not, but I think teams like Roush completely ruin it for competition in NASCAR.

Frankly if one of Roush’s cars doesn’t win the championship this year it just shows how bad Roush really sucks including Mark Martin. Martin has had plenty of opportunities to win a championship but just doesn’t have what it takes to be that caliper of a driver and unless he gets really lucky by the better caliper drivers crashing and just blowing it Martin won’t win a championship this year either…

I did watch the race. He "bumped " him on the straight, not in a corner. Therefore, it was an accepted move.
Quit belly-aching'. That's how the race goes. But I too would have liked to see someone else win, but he never, so boo-hoo.
There are more races to come.:santa:

I no way endorse Hendrick Motorsports but...

he wasn't let go. His contract was up at the end of the year and he went looking somewhere else since the 24 and 48 get all the top equipment. He left on his own, he didn't get fired. This is his third year in that car. Hendrick has given him plenty of time to win.

I wouldn't allow Vickers to any meetings either. He doesn't need to know anything more about their "trade secrets" than he already does. The only thing he needs to know is what time qualifying, practice and the race is.

He did wreck the two drivers I love to hate the most.

Way to go Brian Vickers!

They need to eliminate Teams. One owner, one car. Even without the money these big Teams still have advantages on the track with their team mates.

They also need to use a different point system for the the top 10 contenders in the last 10 races. Those 10 should be given points based on their positions of 1 through 10 and not based on all 43 positions. It would keep it tighter and one DNF won't ruin the chase for a driver.

I don't know what goes on when the season is over but all the owners and THEIR drivers should discuss a point system they can agree on.

And one other thing I can't stand is Goodyears monopoly. Let Hoosier, Firestone, Bridgestone, Goodrich or any other tire manufacturer compete. The competition among them will make a better tire and we the consumer will benefit from it.

We DON’T benefit from Goodyear any more then when benefit from anything else in NASCAR. There is nothing in NASCAR that is passed down to normal manufacturing processes, be it Goodyear, Ford, Chevy etc…

What is made for NASCAR, like Goodyears, is ONLY good for NASCAR unless you want to buy a real sticker tire that last 15 – 30 miles…

I was probably a kid when I heard it but I thought that the auto manufacturers work with the Race teams on parts and wind tunnel testing for the track cars which some ideas ending up on the family sedan. Same with Goodyears. I thought that tire technology in racing may end up in the family sedan like belt design. I thought the run-flat tires started in racing long before we got them. And back in the late 60s and early 70s I thought Firestone 500s were based on the Indy car design.

I suppose you're gonna tell me that I'll never see those rear roof flaps or a place to give my suspension a quarter turn on the family sedan.

Seen on the news today that Lowe's motor speedway has to give Brian Vickers special police guards because all the JR fans are making threats!

Jr didn't seem that upset about it. He just said "that's racing". Perhaps the Anger Management that Stewart has been passing on to the other drivers is paying off!

I went to the race and it was funny how stupid some of Dale Jr's fans are. My buddy that I went with is a die hard fan, as most of them are. Around the halfway point of the race he had a flat tire and had to pit. So by pitting by himself he had no drafting help and it was a matter of time before the leaders caught him and put him a lap down. Well, he goes a lap down but stays among the top 3 or 4 cars. When he would pass the leader, unlapping himself, the fans would go crazy like he was taking the lead. There is a 100' tall leaderboard in the infield that tells you who is where. Just look at the dang board before looking like a retard. Even my buddy was laughing at them.

Don't be fooled by the fans. True fans know where their driver is. Getting back on the lead lap is important and when you can pass the leader you know you have a good car. I think the true fans knew where Jr was.

I agree that the True fans know where he is. They have the race scanners on their heads. What I was referring to was that the whole dang grandstand was jumping up and down cheering like he!!.
