Why is everyone on Vickers, all he did was a typical Dale Sr move. He had probably been watching some old Dale Sr film. If you drop down in front of a guy on the last lap, you "takes your chances". Johnson did and he lost. I don't care one way or another, I am a Martin fan. Just don't see that anyone has a gripe.

I was so pissed. Jr was gonna let johnson go by for the win and then the rookie crashes both of them. I was angry. if martin didnt win the nextel cup i certainly wanted johnson to win.

Vickers isn't a rookie.

and Jr wasnt going to let anyone pass him for a win...he's in the chase too!!

anyway, Vickers may or may not have done it on purpose, but at the end of the day, he won. now, Jimmy's bitchin because Vickers was stupid for trying to push Jimmy past Junior. From what I can tell Jimmy did have a run on Junior when he was in the draft, but when Jimmy came out of the draft...NOTHING and thats why Vickers came out. to "bump draft" jimmy and get a 1-2...Jimmy is a whiny baby also, and of course all of Junior Nation.

Yea Junior did say he was gonna let Johnson around. Junior said he couldn't outrun Jimmy. You could tell he was pissed. I think Vickers should have let someone else ahead after that screw up. Maybe drop it into second and blow the motor. No one wanted to see him win after that crap. Plus I thought they said the reason he was leaving his team was because he had a better offer from someone else.

He's been around alot longer than alot of other drivers. It was a veteran move. Nobody can say it hasn't been done before.

Did you ever see Dale Sr. race? He had the move down perfectly. He won more than one race by eliminating the guy in front of him, he called it agressive driving.

Exactly what move are you talking about? the move where he was trying to help his teammate win? If he had actually helped Jimmy, EVERYONE would be singing a different tune..Jimmy would be braggin how his car was so much faster than Junior's, Junior would be saying I couldnt hold off the 48, and Brian Vicker's mom would be saying "son, I see you got a second place..way to go son" and that's all that would be said to or about Vickers. But since he didnt help Jimmy and actually ended up causing a wreck for those 2 and he won..now he's the son of satan, and a disgrace to NASCAR...hypocrisy, gotta love it

Exactly. Besides, I don't get this helping each other out. I think the object should be to win, that is what he did. NASCAR should not be a team sport when it comes to drivers. The only team is the one that works on that car.

I agree totally...The large teams are ruining the sportsmanship of NASCAR. They are bringing in a lot of technical upgrades and allowing more competition,,,but the sport is out of it..The independants are what made NASCAR..now an indy couldnt even afford a ticket to a race...

The megateams are the successful ones. If you don't have at least 3 cars you have no chance. Look how good robby gorgon does compared to the roush teams, hendrick, or childress. No chance.

that's what Im saying...they took the low budget team out of the equation...the heyday was lost in the late 90's...you wouldnt see this new "youth" movement if there weren't big teams with big sponsors...Im not complaining, it has worked in NASCARS favor...but as a true fan...to see the little guy be shutout of racing just doesnt seem right..

I remember back in the 90's when Hendrick had the 24, 5, and 25 teams only and finish a race 1,2,3. The small teams just don't have the mega-budgets to compete with them. I can't see that ever changing. I'ts sad, yes, but oh well. That's racing too.
