Fishing was good wwhy stop. They did call it in and it was already known, said it was lightning strike.

At least it didn't ruin the fishing. Nice fish your buddy caught there.

That is something!

We had a lightning strike by my house the other day.

There isn't any remote forest here. The fire is just the wires on the ground.
I was sitting in the house watching the tube. It seemed like the storms had pretty much passed. I'd see an occational flash of lightning. I saw a flash, then there was a huge explosion. When I ran outside there was this huge fire. The wires were buzzing loudly. It burned like this for about ten minuets then went out. It was pretty crazy. A neighbor said there was someone driving there when it happened. I guess they stopped but then drove off quickly, I would assume to change their underware.

Mother nature works in mysterious ways.

Awesome pictures Jim and scary too. It's been so dry around here that if I even think I smell smoke I start packing

Where did you go fishing?? In northern Ontario there are alot of forest fires right now. I did forest fire fighting when I was in college that was the best summer job ever!! I got some cool pictures too.
