I hear that, every time I opened my safe for a while, I noticed another 1911

I have since thinned out my collection.

BTW: Well spoken

I own a gun too. A Winchester 1300 model Ranger with three different choke sizes. It's a BLAST to shoot.

My 10/22's fluctuate, I will always have atleast 1 stainless steel around. I went from 1 plain, stock, SS to 9 various, now down to 3, all with in a 4-6 weeks. They are ewasy trade because everyone wants them.
Haha, dang. Opening my gun safe and seeing that many of basicly the same gun would have me wondeirng what the heck I was doing lol. I only have one 10/22, might pick up another one in the synthetic/stainless variation and set it up as kind of a 'Coon only' gun. Probably going to be a 22Mag though...

AH that is the beauty of the 10/22 you can make them look anyway you want, with all the stuff out there for them.

They are a lot like 1911s and hot rods, change something and try it out, then change something else and try it out, maybe you will find that perfect combination for you, just like the right Carb, intake, cam combo on the hot rod.

Thanks y'all.

Hopefully, I'll be able to do a little more accuracy minded testing this weekend with a rest and various types of ammo.

Alright think I've decided to search for, find and buy a 1911 for my personal defense and not to trade, unless I get it and really dont like the way it shoots. I am looking for an AMT 1911 "hardballer" preferablly, but would take a newer and bigger AMT 1911 "Long slide" for a cheap enough price. The Hardballer model books at $200 in good condition, and the Longslide books at $335 in good condition.
It is the first stainless steel 1911 made, and features an adjustable trigger and extended safety lever "longer than aftermarket safety levers".

The Hardballer looks like this....

The longslide is almost identical except as the name implies 2" Longer barrel and longer slide.

If you see either of these some where for a fair price let me know, I have a fierarms dealer that will except guns to be shipped to me, for me.

I've found a couple on some gun auctions online, and market price seems to be right with book price. But I'd rather buy one that someone "as in a third party or myself" has looked at in person.

The only thing I've found to watch for on them is the slide rails.... The slide and and frame are the same alloy, all stainless steel. Old lunricants could not reduce friction and the rail would wear down or gall, if this happens you have to build it back up and re-shape it. That is not a problem, but I don't want to pay top dollar for one with this condition.
