Statistics have shown stateside that the rate of violent crimes is lower in cities and states where it's legal to carry a concealed firearm.

The bad guys will get guns anyway they can, and they won't hesitate to use them to gain an advantage against you in a violent confrontation. Whoever said that they played by the rules?

Negative. So what you're saying is that we as Americans go around randomly shooting people and things at no discretion. Make no mistake about it - the use of a firearm in self defense is an absolute last ditch option should things start going south.

I'm not going to comment on this, because I'm very proud of my country, as you are of yours, and the words I'd typically use to respond to a comment like this have no business in a public forum.

Like I said mental!
And? 19 terrorists used 4 airliners to kill almost 3000 Americans, do you propose we make air travel illegal?

hmmm so what is the justification for owning a gun apart from 'because we can' and stating other countries have problems with crime
Why on earth do you need a gun as a general citizen ie you don't have to scare birds off runways or have to hunt to live
I never needed any justification to own a gun. The main reason I own them is because I choose to, and fortunately our Constitution allows us to make this choice.

Because I enjoy shooting. Recreationally and competitively. I enjoy the challenge of shooting a firearm accurately. I enjoy the comradery with my fellow shooters and competitors. It's fun.

I also take comfort in knowing the fact that if, God forbid, the day ever came that someone directly wished violence upon me or my family, I'd be at least somewhat ready to answer that violence accordingly in the name of self preservation. Real life thugs and murderers depend on non-resistance for success. I don't plan on giving them that.

Yes, you are bringing my thread down, by derailing the original topic in a wholly different direction beyond the scope of this thread. I know there's several other shooters on this forum, and the original idea behind this thread was to show those interested a pistol I had just purchased, not to justify or explain why I purchased it, what I use it for, and how many rounds I should shoot through it, be it 20 rounds or 2000 rounds.

And as far as your curiousity goes, I doubt it's something that can be adequately explained given where you live and the policies of your government.

I'm grateful and honored that I live where I'm allowed to buy and own firearms for personal use, regardless of what that use may be as long as it falls within the laws set by local and federal law enforcement. I'm sorry you can't say the same.

Since the armed forces you speak of to save you would be your own Hitler, then what you mean is that if things go south for you, and your goverment turns on you, then you'll wait until we come save your butt.....

That's cowardly and weak.

I already asked you once, troll. And apparently you can't listen.

Everyone's entitled to their opinions, and sometimes, you gotta keep 'em to yourself. This is one of those times.

But understand this: I intially didn't disregard your country or its/your beliefs. But you did disregard mine. Especially on the comment of this country and it's Constitution, I get pretty irritable when someone who doesn't have a f'kin' clue about the who's, what's and why's refers to it as "a bag of ***** you hide behind to justify owning guns..."

I won't say you're stupid, but you are ignorant.

Thats fine, currently my personal handgun collection is a very weak, (small and they are all .22's :o ) it could stand to multipy a few fold with larger calibers.

Yea, 1911s are like 10/22s and Anschutz rifles, you have to have 6 or 8 of them.

I'd be alright with one Anschutz smallbore rifle. I've been toying around buying one to work on my slow prone and offhand, or maybe buying a dedicated .22 LR upper for my service rifle.

Congrats on the new purchase! I have been eyeing that one far some time now and will probably pick one up in a couple of weeks. A friend of mine has a kimber that is about 10 years old and it is a very nice gun.

Ok then they are only 1/2 as bad.... Phew, had me worried.

My 10/22's fluctuate, I will always have atleast 1 stainless steel around. I went from 1 plain, stock, SS to 9 various, now down to 3, all with in a 4-6 weeks. They are ewasy trade because everyone wants them.
