My problem is I'm not young enough to know everything.

That's funny. I have two teenage sons and if you ask them they don't know anything.

Lately, I find myself saying with great frequency (below my breath), "I was young and stupid once."

I don't know it that actually means I'm now old and stupid, or what . . .

(I heard yesterday that wisdom comes at 40 and patience comes at 50. So what's it like to be patient, raoul?)

My current problem is that my wife keeps telling me that we don't have the money to do anything to my Jeep. It STILL sits at stock height. I want to put a 4" suspension lift and a 1.5" body lift on it. Then 35" tires on black Simulock wheels and LOTS of body armor. Then there's regearing, lockers and an SYE kit for the T/C and a flat T/C skid...

I don't want it all at once, just to be able to start getting some of the stuff I NEED for my Jeep.

So the root of your problem is you don't wear the pants in your marriage. Okay.

No, she's the bank. If the bills were up to me, my Jeep would be done and we'd be living on Top Ramen.

Well, when you suddenly get the gift of wisdom at 40 and everybody else is running around without any, it's very frustrating. After ten years of frustration you turn 50 and you either discover patience or you implode.

I'm looking forward to 60 and the gift of 'Crafty/Evil/Manipulative'.

where do I begin?

Problem 1) MIL needs new tire on her vehicle because one has chunk of metal in it. Relies on SIL (me) to take care of it. Take it to place that has warranty, find out all tires are needing to be replaced very soon anyway (and I agreed). Called wife, told her to call her mom and explain...does she want 1 new tire or all 4. No one calls me back, replaced all 4 tires. MIL never paid me the $700.

Problem 2) MIL moves into basement for over a year, brings big f'n giant schnauzer with her without asking. Dog decides to sh_t on my side where I have all of my gun/reloading equipment. Offers wife $600/month rent. Never paid it. Dog also so big that he props himself up over the stove and eats my dinner on numerous occasions before I get home from work. MIL does nothing.

Problem 3) MIL's big f'n schnauzer chews hole in my backyard fence and he and my 2 labradors decide to go on nightly escapes. MIL doesn't even offer to repair fence, claimed my dogs did it although they were in backyard 3 years without a problem. MIL works night shifts at hospital. Up to me to retrieve dogs between midnight and 4am.

Problem 4) SIL borrows $1400 with promise to pay back after divorce is final. Paid back $1000. Haven't seen other $400. Been 6 months. Meanwhile, SIL buys new car.

Problem 5) Wife thinks money pours from husbands pockets any given time, any given place.

Problem 6) Kill MIL or dog?

I could go on....
