Democratic Party Hijacked by the far left...
Today, like each of the 1799 days since 9/11, I woke up, checked the news, and there has not been another attack on our country. Every day that the terrorists fail to achieve an attack on US soil, is a fresh new victory for us in the war. It is not a conventional war, where there is a blue team, and a red team, and they march at each other with bayonets lowered, the victor waving his flag atop a hill for photographers to capture and put on Time Magazine's front cover. There is likely to be no "victory" in that sense, anymore than a homeowner can claim "victory" over ants. The ants will always be out there, and will keep breeding fresh colonies. All he can do is fight to keep them out of HIS HOUSE. Sometimes he has to go on the offensive, by fighting them outside of his house, pushing them back, and creating significant separation between them and his walls. This war, like the one in which we are engaged, must be fought indefinately if we wish to have peace here at home. That said, there are plenty of valid debates on the tactics used by our current leadership, but none can ever argue that we are not doing anything to protect and our people from those who seek to harm them.
I don't vote on party lines, for the same reasons repeated above. However, what really scares me is the possibility of war weary Americans voting into power a government who will swing this "anti-war" concept too far the other way, opening us up to unimaginable attacks on our soil.

You can observe several theological websites, libraries, all you want, and one source will tell you that the Jews, Christians, and Muslims all have the same GOD but hold different concepts about HIM. Others will deny it. It is too subjective to announce they are one in the same. So, it can also come down to interpretation, once again. I've sat through plenty of Sunday school classes. Depending on which one you sit in will also demonstrate the seemingly endless list of predictions on who will make it to heaven and how. We're not talking about the same diety. Allah is NOT the Christian God. Wiki won't change my mind.
Are you pre or post Vatican II Catholic? Traditionals believe that all those that still follow the POPE are heretics. I have an oblate (sp?) patient that related to me that when the Catholics split in the 1960s, the Pope said on his death bed, "I have opened the doors to the church, and the smoke of the devil has come in."

As far as the religions go. I've read many dry books about the big three and you are correct some say they are related, some say they aren't. Some say the Jews came form the Muslims some the other way around. I found many more resources claiming Islam and the Jews were one religion at one time. What I found the most telling was the Old Testament stories and many of the stories in the Koran are the same, but the names have been changed. Since I was unable to read the book I had to speak to my Muslim friends and talk about religion and the old stories. Due to the different laws of the countries I was in I was treading on very thin ice, but feel I came out with a basic understanding of Islam.
I am post-Vatican II. I listened to the old folks talk about how things were pre-Vatican II. It seems to me they changed it for the better.
