saturn wheel bearings gone at 45,000!

Alot of noise was coming from the left front wheel of my wife's Saturn. It sounded like a B-17 taking off. Took it in and sure enough the bearing is shot. Only a $100 with the service contract.

I think it's really weird that it would go out at only 45,000 miles. I got the service guy to sorta admit that it wasn't normal, but he kept saying that anything is possible. I'm thinking that the design life of that bearing was alot longer than that. Isn't that a reasonable opinion to have seeing as it wasn't drivien in extremely dusty conditions or through standing water?

They don't work on Saturday because all the mechanics have second jobs. You see they have to work a second job because the evil dealership doesn't pay them enough so that they can afford all their high priced tools.

That's what makes them a "different kind of car company".

Crap happens, things go bad. You can't expect anything mechanical to be perfect.

The bearing is going out on my Civic. I tried to fix it myself this weekend but I couldn't get the axle nut off. Broke my damn breaker bar

Most likely it was just cheap Chi-Com crap. Oh well only $100 to get it fixed. You have to buy the hub with the bearing allready pressed into it. That sells for $170 at NAPA or Autozone. They don't sell them separately.

That's probably a conspiracy by the Chi-Coms and GM.
