Snakes!
Snakes!
Went to my grandson's seventh birthday party last Saturday. He is a big Steve Irwin fan and had the party he wanted. There were about 12 kids and a snake man. The guy brought 10 or 12 snakes, did an educational speel about snakes and let the kids hold them. It was amazing to see all these kids with snakes wrapped around their arms and necks. It went better than I expected, I hate snakes. It was educational. Just weird to see my 5 year old granddaughter with a seventeen lb Python hanging on her shoulders. There was a Boa constrictor, Rat snake, Corn snake, King snake and several others. Had to put Maggie the Rat Terrier in her crate as she is a snake killer.
My daughter made the birthday cake in the shape of a snake using about 20 cup cakes. The eyes were gummy bears and the tounge was a gummy worm. It was all pretty neat, but Papa did not handle the snakes. Not my thing.

We go to Port Aransas every 4th of July or thereabouts. We stop at the same eating joints and rest areas every year. I like seeing the signs at rest areas in south Texas that say "watch for snakes". It's just funny, but it's a "had to be there" moment.

Been bit by one of those, too. Life as an outdoors man is dangerous
Mine healed in about 4 months with no problem, but for a while it looked like someone put a cigar out on my arm...

Now, I dont know bout the rest of you guys, but I loooove nature, and everything that goes with nature. That would include snakes, spiders, mice, bugs, wind, rain, dirt, EVERYTHING.
I grew up in the country, and we didn't have much. So, my brother and I learned to enjoy what was available to us. If you go out in the country, and just look around, there are a lot of things to actually enjoy by just looking.

I got bit by a chicken snake, but that's because I was careless. I was about 15 or so. I found it near some brush sunning one day, I caught it took it home to keep, right. Well, I put it in this old rabbit cage. the next day I went out to "check" on it and I thought it was dead. "Aww man, he died". I reached in and grabbed him, and he bit me. Good thing he wasn't poisonous.
Does that count?

You must ask yourself if this meets the criteria in posed question. If it does, then yes, it counts. If not, well, try harder.

We'd been fishing there a lot, and the fishing was excellent. There was a dead clump of treee branches in the southwest corner of the pond, and you couldn't get a line down in there, so you had to fish on one side or the other of it. I mean, there were days we'd fish for 3-4 hours, and between 3 or 4 of us, we'd come home with over 100 fish. I mean cat fish, bass, trout, perches, brims, and the occasional garfish. We had never seen a snake in all our visits there.
We hadn't been in quite a while, and we decided to go to catch some fish, and have a big fish-fry that weekend, (In Louisiana, a "Fish fry" is akin to a "Cook-out" in Texas, only with fish instead of Beef, chicken, etc..). Man, when we got down there, and as we approached the hole (no pun intended) my friend and I were going to the north side of the stack, my Mom and Step-Dad were headed east of the stack when my Mom let out this blood curtling scream. My dumb ****, and Roy never saw them. The "branches" were covered in what must have been nearly 50 water moccasins. My step dad hollered for Roy and I to haul ***, which we did, and he opened fire (which was probably a bad idea) into the branches, and all those SOB's (Except for the 1 or 2 he killed), hit the water... I mean, they were out there, just chillin, didn't run when the truck pulled up, didn't run from our walking and talking- they were just out, sunning themselves.
I was about 13-14 years old, and I said, "Sheyiiiiit, I'm not sitting by this pond today..." My Mom cracked up laughing. That was the first time I'd ever cursed around my Mom. After that, (Especially considering how many freaking snakes were in a "CORNER" of a pond that was no larger than half a football field ) and the fact that step-dads shootign with his litle .38 probably did more to **** them off, than it did scaring them, pretty much ended my desire to do anymore shore fishing. (We rarely fished from a boat, as the fishing was good from the banks with a cane pole, and a 30 lb test line.)
I went a few more times (to different fishing holes, never again to that one) once I "upgraded" to my Zebco 33 reel and a pole, but- never caught anything with it...
I lost interest after that, and I haven't fished since 1987.
But I have had a big snake (I didn't hang aroudn to do a positive ID) crawl across the top of my boot at Ft. Huachuca, AZ in 1991. Lets just say, they'll never have to mow that patch of grass again.
