got Junk? Sell it on e-bay......

Man i'm pissed off. I won a motorhome last week on ebay. I called the seller and asked him alot of questions before i bid on it. One major question was , is there any oil leaks, Answer. no.... So i drive about 100 miles to pick it up on Saturday. I go inside and look around, and i see mice traps? i ask got critters? He says yes, but i haven't caught him yet. So there starts the feeling of i'm backing out of this deal. I go outside and pull the oil dipstick, 2qts. low on oil. I get my creeper out and start at the back and i see the guy and his wife start talking and getting nervous. I roll under the front and the trans is dripping and the oil pan is leaking at the rear main. I craw out and tell them i'm not going to purchase this, because they didn't disclose the oil leaks, etc. His wife says to me that i'm buying this, and i told her i'm not. She then tells me it was as is and that this is a binding contract. I told her that he lied to me prior to the sale and that was fraudulent sale. I told her that they lied in listing, because it said that it had regular maintenance and if it was maintained, it would not of been 2 qts low on oil, and they would of known about the leaks underneath. She told me to pay her the $500.00 deposit, i told her sue me, and left.

Good job getting negative feedback

Not quite how I would have handled the situation, but hey at least you aren't stuck with some critter infested, oil drippin' motorhome.

Good Job. 1 Negative feedback isn't going to kill you and you can Respond to said feedback saying, "I went there; Mis-represented Junk" or something.
I flew out to Utah to pickup an ebay purchase; I got lucky.

How would you of handled it? I'm waiting for the negative feedback, because they are going to get an ear full as well....

I bought 2 jeeps on e-bay, and made money on both. I asked questions on both several times before bidding, and was happy with the purchases.

FX4me2,

They'll probably list it again. Get someone to ask them the same questions. Report them if they don't disclose the leaks again. They can't claim ignorance now.

I would have taken a look, found some unsatisfactory things, poined them out and then tried real hard not to laugh as I was burning out on their driveway.

Nah, I'm kidding. I'd have just said "your description doesn't match the item" and see of there was some way to work something out. I dont know. I dont ever buy large ticket items on eBay unless the person is a large dealer or has perfect feedback.

But yeah, THEY deserve the negative feedback not you. That'll be ****ed up if they do that to you.

I think that this is the second time it was listed. I received an e-mail that another person bidded on it prior to this auction. I 'm trying to make contact with this guy, but e-bay won't let me respond. I'm waiting to see if this idiot is going to give me the negative feedback, before i give him one.

He he; I purchased a ring/pinion from a guy on Ebay and he was a grade A jerk. We're both playing the waiting game on Feedback. I intend to give him positive feedback but also say I would never do business with him again.

I told this guy i would be there Saturday morning between 8-9 AM. I surprized him by getting there at 7:30. We pulled into his town and i see him and the motorhome at the gas station so i pulled in there. he was surprised that i was there already. This made me think that he was hideing something. I was hoping to start it up cold. He had it warmed up. I got to follow him back to his house and watch it rock back and forth when he pulled out. I knew then it was not maintained as described. I confirmed that when i was under it and found the rear springs collapsed and the original shocks still on it. It wasn't greased in a long time either.

Make sure you post negative feedback so that the next buyer won't have to waste their time.

If it's cheap enough, I don't mind a little work... As long as they tell me what they know...
