You know you're screwed when you show up to your hearing for a DWI drunk.

Even if you split the diff and you were only doing 42 in a 30 that is still excessive speed, and faster than you need to be going in an area with a posted speed limit of 30 mph.

I bet the guy you were "showing off" for was really impressed, you really showed him (at least that you have $165 that you didn't need elsewhere), didn't you?

Next time, please try to be more careful where you "flore" it...

Why not think about confining your "speeddemon" tendencies to a local track, at LEAST while you are so young, and while you are trying to establish a safe driving record, and show others that you are a responsible young adult, and while you are still trying to grow older and getting somewhere doing that.

All you did was get yourself into trouble, lose $165, put your driver's license in jeapordy, and risk your insurance premium getting raised to even MORE expensive than it is right now.

Wasn't that fun?

Not trying to be "preachy" but sometimes some of us old farts might have something to say that might be worth listening to...

Driving a 5,000 lbs vehicle with a cool sounding exhaust too fast IS a lot of fun, most of us have been there and done that. Some have lived to tell about it, BUT some of us have not, and their friends and relatives will always grieve about losing someone as a result of someone else doing something this stupid.

Operating a vehicle improperly can also be deadly, especially with a 16 year old who does not have the experience to deal with something when it goes oh so terribly wrong.

My little brother runs a website dedicated to teens and safe driving, and educating them (with time in a classroom and in a vehicle) BEFORE they kill themselves or someone else. This is his passion, he dedicates his life to trying to save the lives of our young people. I can only imagine some of the things he has seen and experienced.

I don't know if I can even put his website address here, but parts of it are sobering, including the "memorial wall" ...

PLEASE, for your own sake, and life, and that of others who might become innocent victims - PLEASE be more careful in the future...

I sincerely apologize for turning the tone of this thread towards being serious, but this IS serious, at least IMHO!

Cops and authorities aren't ALWAYS the bad guys, maybe they just hate having to see youngun's put into body bags before they even get out of their teen years!

+1...................
