The connector you're looking for is on the driver's side of the transmission at the MLP (manual lever position) switch. The shift cable attaches to a little lever that has a nut on it that holds it onto the manual lever on the transmission and the MLP itself. I'll try to find you another reverse reference, but that's the best one I can think of right now.

Quintin...any luck with finding another spot to tap into??
Let me ask you this....the dark green / yellow wire Im tapped into...where does that connect to in the fuse box? I'm wondering if I pull the power for the head unit right where this wire connects to the fuse box or relay, I may have a better chance of getting full power and not have to worry about the voltage drop. What do you think?

Well this project wasn't and I think that was the problem. So after checking it out with my meter, the help of Quintin, Lees99f150 and PSS-MAG (around 1am this morning) I decided to go with a relay..oh, and a few beers before I started
The relay did the trick. I pulled the power to the relay right out of the fuse box, grounded it right there at the "easy to get to" ground stud and used the dark green / yellow wire to trigger it. ( The same wire I'm using to power the camera ) It works great now. No voltage drop, so the screen stays on all the time now. Its awesome, I like it.
Thanks to everyone for the help...even you guys in the peanut gallery, you kept me smiling. I'll get some pictures of it later.

i said to try the relay method in post #10 but i guess brew wasn't listening then, i guess by post #35 he was getting a little more desperate.
Good to See it work out for ya brew. i'd like to see how it looks in the cab.
remember you can do just about any wiring and switching with the Bosch relays.

Well I gotta tell you guys..I can be a little stubborn at times..ok, alot stubborn. I dont like to add to many switches and relays, resistors, capacitors, or cut to many factory wires...so it takes a little longer for me to get to that point. Since the camera was danggling out the window as I drove past the ocean yesterday, I decided to give it one more try...
I'm glad I did. I'll get pictures of it tomorrow during the day and at night and post them up here...
