My whole thing is that it's really only supporting your ego unless the military sees you doing it. Doesn't forwarding the email alone accomplish as much as wearing red?

A. Guess I'd be poor if worked there.
B. One group of people noticed. Did anyone notice an excessive amount of red at McDonalds or the gas station? Did it get picked up by any media?
Great the email affected the entire office and yet this is the first I heard of it.
Wildly successful. Next stop National Holiday

The point is, someone took notice. If you don't think the military knows what's going on, think again... I'm military, and I know, and I can and will spread it... So are many other people on here.

Who said anything about it being a shirt??? "Wear something red"... Like an armband or a bracelet, maybe even a barrett for you... Just something to make people ask the question... That's how the word gets out...

I think it's better to sell I Support Our Troops pins on the web for $10 and donate the money to the troops.
I hate to get involved in debates, but isn't this just a simple way for the country to show our support. Does anyone remember lighting a candle and putting it on your porch for the 9/11 victims? It's the same thing.

Get off your convict hang up... If I read you right, you work somewhere in a prison. You're not the only non-convict that works there...
It's not about money... It's moral support. Give there guys a reason to believe in when there over there fighting. Most of them already stand up on their own convictions, but it means a lot to them to see that they're not forgotten about and that someone back in the 'real world' cares. Would you be willing to put your life on the line for a bunch of people who don't know you and don't care? They're hands are tied by the liberals, they're not being allowed to fight the way their trained, and their taking casulties b/c of it. If they believe what they're doing means something to you, then they, as would I, give my life to defend it.

Easy... Your 50 closest friends know what you stand for... The complete stranger at the gas station doesn't. Many, many, people support the troops, esp on this website. I'm very proud of this site, and the credit that it gives to our troops. I'm military, but I'm not over there, getting shot at and risking my life. I have an easy job, as far as that goes. While we're supporting the troops, most of it is convertly, either because it's something that most people just don't think about often enough, or b/c they're afraid of confrontation with someone who oppoeses the war. This whole idea is to get the support of our troops overtly. There's no shame in standing up for what you believe in, even if it's not popular. Don't get me wrong, I'm not questioning your character, I feel I know you well enough to know how you feel on this subject. But why let everyone know how you feel, friends and strangers alike. If all the supporters banded together, the opposers would be less likely to voice their opinion. But no one opposes them, so they get they words and ideas out freely and easily. Why not turn the tide back on them a little, and show your support to everyone?

Why don't we all promise to wear something that say, "I support Our Troops" That would take the guess work out of it.
Vader; where did you go?
