IMO, if it has girly 1997 style curves; it's not a truck.

If it's more than 9 model years old, it's not a truck.

real trucks don't have sparkplugs yada yada yada

FYI, the power button on the Isuzu doesn't make it faster, just quicker. Raises the shift points mainly, on my wife's Amigo it shaves a full second off the 0-60 easily. The winter button basically keeps the torque converter from locking, you push it from a dead stop, it should shut off automatically around 25mph. Works great in the winter, especially on ice.

In the area I live 4wd is a must for winter, camping and general coolness.

The only vehicle I had problems with 4wd was my grand cherokee. And it was full time 4wd.

Mainly because I can. I've been in a situation or two where 4WD has saved me a walk of many miles and much embarassment. Since I live in the city people ask why I have 4WD, I guess they don't realise that you can actually LEAVE this sprawling monstrosity of humanity.

You really don't need a 4x4 and You really don't need a truck, You really don't need to worry abought icey roads if your not driving on them, You really don't need to spend the extra money hauling around all that extra whieght......

Start walking, Like it? add thirty sheet's of 4x8 plywood, walk of the road and up the hill carrying it, Like it?

Attach a tow rope to your mid section and pull out the school bus stick on ice, Like it?

I like my 4x4, once you use it, for only just one time and than not to have it the next time make's me cry, and ya it's a extra toy to have and a dam good tool as well..

Well I could say....

Wife has it because she doesn't know how to drive...

I don't have it becasue I do....

I agree, the extra cost for gas, maintainence, etc etc for me is not worth seeking for a daily driver. I won't turn a daily driver down because it's 4wd, but I won't turn it down becasue it isn't either.
In the end it's all a matter of comfort level, if you don't think you can make it with out a 4wd, then don't even attempt it.

But even if I had to use 4wd for any reason then I wouldn't tell anybody....

I find it amazing 4wd trucks and SUV I find here in Mississippi, when it hardly ever snows, and when it does, the roads aren't prepped so that someone can drive anyway since 4wd doesn't do any good on ice. The majority of them never leave the pavement, and their chassis are cleaner than my 2wd '97 Mountaineer ever could get after the first time I managed to get it to climb up a hill in college that the 4wd Nissan with bald tires couldn't do.

I probably wouldn't have a 4wd if I wasn't into hunting and fishing. The only other times I use it is when friend of mine says that his home construction partner needs another trailer fixed. They always manage to leave the durn trailers in the middle of the lot, and they usually don't call me until after a big rain. I almost thought that the main guy's F-250 SD KR FX4 was gonna have to pull me out once.
