I hate to be a party pooper here, but.

Why don't you use a stainless steel pin and drill it and slide the padlock through the pin? Kinda like what I do with the plough on my quad?

How much did that patent cost you. I think you wasted your efforts in a patent. Anybody can come along a change just a little something and oops there goes your patent.

been dare done dat.

Besides, If someone was worried about a thief steeling a plow off of the front of a truck. Why doesn't the owner just park in front of a building or a big 'ol oak tree for that matter so as the thief couldn't get to the plow?

Then they would steal the truck.

And probably leave the plough.

speaking from experience.

dont over think a theif. all you need is a way to "sheild" the lock so that they can't beat it off with a hammer and chisel or bolt cutters.

building to resist a torch is crazy. cant be done , then they just torch the truck or any metal part.

i would try to sale the idea directly to the plow mfg or to some of the trailer mfg dealers or associations. might have to join an association, i know that they rescently had a large show in las Vegas about 2 months ago. (trailer mfg)

i'm not bound to the original
and the way the deal was drawn up by the lawers will prevent any "infringments"
i have one year to make any changes i want..

I used to tig weld stainless at work and made plenty of things for myself, nothing patent worthy though. Stainless intake adapter for the probe GT, stainless guage pod, stainless blow off valve adapter, stainless battery box, etc. BTW I think you oughta beef it up a little. The welds look fused without any filler rod in the pics and from experience I know one swift blow with a 16 oz ball peen and it's bye bye snowplow.
