Ive been to, and seen just about every form of motor racing. the most exhilarating has to be the 4.5 second when a rail car goes down the 1320.
followed closely by the motorcycle GP races i went to a Donnington park in the late 80's. Wayne rainy and Kevin Schantz were the best.

the local dirt tracks are very fun and great for a family night out.

formula one is fast and loud and has a big following in the rest of the world but not here in the US.

the weirdest racing i ever saw was the super truck racing at silverstone in England.

nascar has got boring and too political lately.

I get bored with it after about the 2nd time they make the circle, I mean really, you're supposed to sit through 500 of those?? The same circle over and over again?? I just can't do it. The wrecks are the only exciting part and they just don't happen often enough to hold my attention through the whole race. Maybe that's why I prefer the Demolition Derby.

Like it was said earlier; it helps if you have someone explain a few things to you. My GF is a big fan and that's what got me into it.

Ahh Rednecks....There was a guy at the track last weekend we referred to as King Mullet.

I will have to post some pics of the race at TMS later when I get home. My GF had a nice view of some rednecks plumber's crack..and we had this one lady sitting in front of us who would scream at Junior everytime he drove by "go junior, go baby" every lap for 332 times I heard that same chant in the most annoying screechy voice. The beer was flowing through her, and I regretted not buying ear plugs.

I had a boss (actually owner of the co.) that raced here in Tx in the Allison Legacy Series; the cars were 3/4 scale nascars (I think). He did pretty good in the local series (San Antonio, Tx and Kyle, Tx), his only mistake was a few times he would let his son, 15-16 at the time, either drive his second car or spot for him on the radio. Whenever either one of these occured on the weekend, around Tue or Wed the following week, we would get a truck load of replacement body and suspension parts.

If it has a motor/engine and races, I watch it. I too love watching the big-rig races. I saw them race in the desert races and in Australia. Just tooooooooooo cool. I drove rigs for years and never dreamed that they could take jumps like those guys do.

Explain what exactly? I'm not trying to be argumentative here, I'm just curious what there is to explain. You have a couple dozen guys in a couple dozen cars all going around and around with the hopes of avoiding a wreck, passing the leader, winning the trophy and the adulation of adoring fans and maybe a television advertisement contract. What else is there?

Exactly my point. Thanks.
Disclaimer: Sorry; I can't answer your question cause I'm still getting the hang of the finer points.
