I've never been to a street circuit race before, but I have been to a dirt track race. It's AWESOME. It's like nascar w/out traction.

No, not true...Who's to say who's in the lead? Her snout or her tail?

So she runs backwards as well as forward. Good trick.

I also used to think that going in a circle all day long was rediculous. That is until I met a guy who was an afficionado in NASCAR. He took the time to explain who was doing waht onthe track and what was happening inthe pits. He used to race so he knows what he's talking about. If you find racing a bore, then you don't really understand what it's all about. Find someone who can take you to the track and into the pits. I guarantee you'll change your mind and become hooked.
I also enjoy the hell out of drags, 4 wheel and 2.
Especially 2.

I'd watch bowling before I'd watch baseball. Did I just say that? Fore!

Bridgeport, NJ has a very fast dirt track. The best of the best in dirt tracks from all over the East then go up to Orange Co in NY for the finals.

The smell of race fuel, the noise, the speed and the vibrations that ripple through your body from the sheer power of these engines is a rush I can never get enough of.

If it's one of those scorching hot days that I don't want to go outside, I pick either nascar or golf to put on so I can take a nap.

Television cannot convey the excitement of the speeds those cars are going. Therefore I find it boring.

Used to go to dirt tracks all the time, watch the race from the pits, hit a car wash on the way home cause you had 1/2 inch of dirt and dust on your car.

Went to see the Outlaws run a few times in Hagerstown MD, they put on a great show.

But there is nothing like going to an NHRA event, the openness to the drivers and crews is awsome. The feeling when they run down the track is unexplainable.

Used to watch some Nascar, but would never go to a race.

If you like nascar go to a local dirt track and check it out, if you happen to have a go-cart track, check that out, those little 2 strokers turning 11 or 12k rpms is something to see also.

Not to hijack but any Truck and Tractor pull people here?

The Smoker tractors are one of my favorites.

They had go-carts racing around at 100mph during intermission.

Went to a tractor pull once; SWEET!

thompson speedway thompson connecticut on thursday nights

granted i spent my life at diffrent dragstrips around the east coast and canada and if its not a race that NHRA or IHRA puts on..then theres lots of "downtime" during the day...but what they do at thompson with 5 classes and modifides starting at 5 pm and over by 10?..NO comparison

i love drag racin' but the best bang for the buck is the local short track

no doubt about it
