Remember the video of the DEA agent giving a talk on gun saftey to a group of young school kids at a school and the pistol went off shooting him in the leg. After, he told them that he was "The Only" one profesional enough to handle it safely?

I just seen on Today Show that he is now suing becasue that video leaked onto the internet.

What an A$$

And what reason is he giving for sueing?? It potentially proves:
a) he lied about being professional
OR
b) he is proved to be an idiot

Can you sue for stuff like that?

So I guess he's suing himself, and then since he can't pay it, he'll ask the state to pay it on his behalf?

I view this as proof that Darwin's theory is not perfect, that some anchors to the ship of human progression are allowed to live.

He is sueing claiming that the video being released on the internet, ruined his 15 year carreer as an undercover cop....

which raises a question...
Why was an under cover cop doing PR for the agency?

I don't know.... It's been a couple of decades since I took the gun safety course. But I think I remember them advising us to "TREAT EACH AND EVERY GUN LIKE IT IS LOADED", I distinctly remember them emphasizing that just like that too. I can't remember the statistics of how many people are killed by unloaded guns each year..... But it was a large amount.

Poor guy is afraid of getting a little ribbing is all. So why not sue. Hell people sue because they are dumb enough to spill a cup of joe in their lap. Seems like the dumbarses aren't as dumb as we think.

I think if I was that fellow, I'd go crawl under a rock and never come out again.

I got this story emailed to me last week at work. I'll post a thread to the story on Monday (if I remember). One of the reason he claims he is suing is because he was one of the DEA's "best" undercovers officers, and now he can't work undercover anymore. It also has a link to the original video.

Unless DEA fired him, he has no grounds to sue. He is just trying to get to the person with the video for embarrassing him. (And the rest of DEA)

He's not just suing about the undercover thing, its also for the mental anguish and suffering he is now going through. He is/was a motivational speaker or some sort of speaker now and since the video came out he's unable to find employment.

Secondly in the video, he racks the slide back thinking he cleared the chamber. While he is holding it up, with his thumb through the trigger guard, he decides to dry-fire it. Thats when it shoots him.

While I think the guy is stupid and I really don't feel bad that he shot himself. The video was taken by a civilian in the crowd and confiscated for the investigation. It was the only video made and wasn't supposed to be released. Some a-hole at the department (I probably would be this guy if I worked there) decided it was too good not to be shared with the rest of the world (and I agree). So this guy will win because it shouldn't have been made public, technically.
