Guess the weight...We have a winner...

Well had some old iron to haul to the compressed steel place since they are paying good. Loaded up a bunch of iron decks that came out of our nurseries. Most are 5x7 feet and about 2'' thick. Others are 4x8 feet. Got the load pretty evenly spread out because there doesnt appear to be much bumper weight.

So guess how much TOTAL weight with trailer/truck/iron...
And guess the weight of the Iron itself...
And also how much money i will get from the iron...

Tips, trailer is 20ft, with tandem 6,000lb axels with brakes. Winner gets a nanner.

5300 lbs of scrap at $20.50 per ton for sheet metal is around $55.00

Well I've never seen a 20' dove tail "bumper pull" SO I have no idea how much that would weigh. I know the gooseneck with full uper deck is right around 8K by it's self. So if the tounge and deck wieged 2K... that trailer might = 6K.
6K + 5K for truck and occupants = 11K

Steel, I'll follow Lee at around 5300 lbs
Price is what ever scrap is bringing per pound (X's 5300lbs)
Or by ton then (X's 2.65 tons)

Total weight = 16,300 (8.15 Tons)

LOL...i got ya...but nope, i never have before. My fingers will be crossed and im hoping you will all say a prayer for me

Ill be sweating bullets untill it gets unloaded. I thought about unhooking the trailer while they use the grapple or magnet to unload it. Id cry if something fell back and landed on my truck.
