Does anyone know how I can tell if my hand is broken or not? I can still type, it doesn't hurt only when I try to close it. Im not sure if thats just because how swollen it is. . chit.

By the looks of your knuckles on your right hand, it seems as if you opened up a can of whoop-a_ _ on someone...

As swollen as it is, the only way to tell if it is fractured is to have it x-rayed. If not, then suck it up and live with the pain. It'll heal on its own, but it won't be the same...

 

Your hand reminds me of the time a good friend of mine who is allergic to bee's was stung in the hand... lol

 

I guess I need to tell the story now. .

Yup, last night were the Mud Runs. I was talking to some people and I come up and see some guy about to come behind my girlfriend put his hands over her shoulders. I saw her get pissed and like fling him off her and he started talking up. So, I come over and tell him he needs to leave before he gets sent to the hospital. Well, I guess he didn't like that and he threw a punch. I ducked and hit him in the side of his jaw and one punch the kid was knocked out. His friend broke a beer bottle over my head and than I upper-cutted him and he fell on his *** and about that time all of his friends picked him up and just rode out and left the mud runs.

Im just making sure that the worst possible scenario is that I'd need a cast. I don't want pins or anything like that. I know pain because I broke my back before and shattered every bone in my foot before. But, if all I need is a cast than I'll just live with it and let it heal by itself.

 

Prolly fractured something...Mine looked the same the day after I punched a wall. Went to the doc and found I broke it. Just go get an Xray...

Same here. Punched a wall and thought i could hide it for about 3 days until i swear it looked the size of a basketball. I could move my fingers but something was broke. Gave in and went to the doctor. Came away with what they call a "boxers fracture". The furthest bone by my pinky on my hand was broke and had to be manipulated and set back in place...then i got a cast for about 6 weeks. I woudlnt recomend just toughing it out unless you want to go through surgerys down the road like a buddy of mine. He now is missing 2 knuckles from getting into so many fights. His hand are messed up.

My smallest one was broke about where the yellow line was drawn. Its possible you could have broke the next one. I know a guy that punched a wall during a basketball game and broke it bad enough he had to have surgery to get pins put in it. Get it checked out man!

It does seem like its your middle knuckle that is swollen the most though. When i did mine my far right side of my hand and 2 end fingers were giant by day 3.
