Soon as I looked at that hand I knew those were teeth marks but didn't want to say anything but since Fyr brought it up

Thump I played baseball for 13 years and have broken my fingers tons of times and my hands once or twice. As long as the bones are only split from each other and not screwed up in a way that they won't grow back together right I say your good to go. I hate the hospital as well so anytime I can get away with not going I do. Tape your fingers together to stop em from moving if you think maybe they're screwed up too and tape your wrist with some athletic tape to keep that hand from moving too much and presto got yourself a homemade cast. If your lucky maybe LT will even sign it for ya.

It does seem like its your middle knuckle that is swollen the most though. When i did mine my far right side of my hand and 2 end fingers were giant by day 3.

Same thing that happened to me, same spot, same "boxers fracture" same , same, same.....Go get it checked Thump.

And no, when I punched the wall I wasnt drunk. Just real pissed at a friend and it was either his face or the wall. I made the right choice.

Looks like when I sprained my foot while knee boarding last year. Hurt like hell for 3 weeks, could barley walk. Couldn't wear shoes either, my flip flops barley fit around it. I didn't go to the doc, it's fine now.

Next time square up your fist and disperse the blow aross all fingers.

Pinch your finger together over the back & palm over your hand and move back & forth. Kinda like you're feeling a fabric or something. If that sends you thru the roof, place your hand flat on a table & lift you middle finger with your other hand. If you can actually move your finger upward more than a 1/4" then most likely your hand isn't broken. Since you can spread your fingers (like in your pic) that also leads me to believe your hand isn't broken.

I've done Muy Thai for about 8 years now, take it from me, NEVER punch someone with out gloves on. Use elbows & knees, they work much better. A good headbutt does wonders as well.

Compare the third finger(from thumb) length to the finger next to it...now look at the other hand. Looks like that third knuckle has been driven back a little. Willing to bet you have the aforementioned boxer fracture.

My parents think that it has gone down a bit. But, I couldn't really tell you. Im going to keep soaking my hand in this giant pot of freezing cold water and hopefully it'll be better by the morning. I do however, just like zapster said, I think that it could be fractured over by my pinky finger. It actually hurts less than it did this morning. So, if it was broken wouldn't it hurt worse? I've broken too many damn things but this is the 2nd time that I've got hurt and it wasn't from riding motocross. Go figure. Oh well, chit happens and life goes on.

I just did that and I can lift my middle finger up pretty damn high.

Hang on one second, I'm going to go get my gloves and put them on. Mean while can just fondle my girlfriend while I'm gone.

That's funny right there.

Seriously though I do agree, it's hard to do because natural first reaction is to swing, but if you don't have a weapon then just pick up a rock or a stick or anything. It hurts you a whole lot less.

I wasn't even trying to fight, I was just going to make him say sorry and be over with it. My girlfriend had already told me she didn't want me fighting because its almost a sure bet that there will be fights at the mud runs. But, when someone swings on you, of course your going to throw it back at them. It just happens to be that he didn't connect and well, I sure as hell did. My dad was kind of pissed off at first and than he just laughed and was like yeah, I would of done the same thing.

I'd say get it checked. After playing football on a broken wrist for 8 weeks and dealing with the surgeries and BS after that....it aint worth it. If the cast bothers you that much, go in, have it x-rayed, and if its broken, get an alignment (if needed), and then drop the cast yourself after a week or so.
