Anyone do DIY powdercoating?
Anyone do DIY powdercoating?
I found this little DIY powdercoater while looking around. I'm was going to get my rims powdercoated but I couldnt find a place within 3 hrs. of my house so I was going to get tem painted but I found this http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?i...erID=68&KICKER
I'm thinking about buying it. I may only use it once but it only costs $100 and I could do some custom powdercoating for people sometimes maybe. Just wondering if anyone else has one and if you do how do you like it.

Looks like an ok deal. My only thing is that you need a place to bake the parts. I see you're 17, so I assume you still live at home.
How does your mom feel about you putting rims in the oven?

I've got the Eastwood kit, and love it. I've done all the front suspension on my Belvedere, and several other things including this piston... Great kit, just make sure the oven is a dedicated oven, not used for food... Several guys recommend when you're done with the oven drill holes in it, and take it to the dump...
BTW, where in AR are you. You can come by and check mine out, or maybe we could work something out, and I could help you out... I do all of mine out of my 2 car garage...
hopefully after the wedding we can get our own place with some land!!

Also, put my first scratch on it!
dropped an allen wrench on the top of the passenger's side quarter. Put two very tiny, but visible scratches... I knew it was going to happen, but had hoped I could prolong it, and not be the one that directly caused it...

but that will have to wait... I gotta get this Belvedere running or I'll never see or need those ***** again...Man, as the weather gets nicer it gets harder to think about selling the Stang. I was sitting at the drive-through window at McDonald's yesterday when an older F150 pulled up beside me with 3 highschool age guys in it. They were just looking the Stang over when the driver yelled "Dayyyyuuuuummm!!!!!" then slowly drove off...
I'm gonna miss her!
