Did you run into any ACY F16's over there? We sent a few over last month along with 150 troops.

I've got a question though. What does it feel like to get stung by a scorpion?
Believe it or not, I never knew I got stung until after the fact. One night I was in the shower & noticed my leg was bleeding. I looked closed and there was a black ring the size of a quarter with a red bleeding spot in the middle. I looked really close & noticed there was only one hole. The next day I went to the clinic and they said from the symptomology, it was most likely a scorpion. Aint the middle east grand?

I've been to Al Udeid. It replaced Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi when those camel pilots threw us out of their country. Qatar said they would build us a base better than PSAB. Al Udeid is as close to home as it gets in the middle east. On base, they have an olympic sized pool with TWO jacuzzis. A gym nicer than the one on McGuire AFB. A BK, Pizza Hut, Subway & an internet cafe/coffee shop (why you would want coffee in the heat of the desert summer escapes me...). A bunch of gift shops. A chow hall that doesn't give out food poisoning on a semi-frequent basis. I don't like deploying to the middle east but Al Udeid would be the place to go if you have to.

Several times. Aircraft # 83-1383 is the only on I remember off the top of my head. Right as this one guy was like 6" from the boom I asked over the radio if he drives an IROC and wears mirrored sunglasses & gold chains. He didn't make a contact on that approach. He actually didn't think it was too funny at all and called me an as$hole over boom interphone. I explained that I was from NJ and he said he would "forgive" me. I reminded him that I control the fuel so I didn't need his forgiveness. He started laughing then. He said that the best place in the entire state of NJ to get a sub is a place called White House Sub Shop in downtown AC. Got to check that joint out.

My wife said the local township called about a week before I got back. My "NJ Firearms Purchaser Identification Card" is in. Going to pick that up tomorrow. Should be fun...

A lot of our F16 drivers are pretty young kids. They were short of pilots a few years ago and did some recruiting.

I think White House Subs are the best. Do not be fooled by several places called Atlantic City Subs. You want the White House. They sell so many daily they have a couple companies bake their rolls for them which is done daily. Never a stale roll. But the rolls are hard and that is why I like them. They also have a nice baked taste to them. People from the Philly area prefer soft rolls so they don't like the hard rolls. They are unique. When you walk in you must got to this dispenser to take a number. There maybe 30 people ahead of you. It moves pretty fast. They have around 8 people making subs. That is all they make. There are tables there but the wait for the tables are very long. The place is famous and very busy. It is a street over from where the ACY Expressway ends in the city. It's an experience to watch all those guys make subs. Many people tip the Sub makers a few bucks.

As for the Fire Arms ID you now have it does not allow you to buy handguns. It allows you to buy pellet guns, rifles and shotguns. You must now apply for a "handgun purchase permit". They use to be $5 each. You need one for each handgun you want to buy. I bought all my handguns from 2 different dealers in Vineland. They were the cheapest. Prices vary greatly. So shop around.

What are the chances for 2 ex-WRI guys and one hot ex-Navy gal getting a hop when they refuel our guys (F-16s). We're FAA now? We all have security clearances.
