Wow. After seeing Net Wurker's and Jamz speeds, I feel rather wimpy.

So can anyone who knows tell me if those numbers are good for you average home DSL thing?

Well, I believe the problem is probably something with your provider, but here is something you can try. On the properties of your ethernet card, check the link speed and duplex.

If it is set to "AUTO", try changing it to "100 FULL". If it is set to "100 FULL", try setting it to "10 HALF". Just make sure you note the original setting, so you can set it back to that.

Sometimes duplex mix-match will cause crazy slow speeds. It's probably set to "AUTO" which means auto negociate the link speed and duplex settings. But, sometimes auto-negotiate can get screwed up...worth a shot.

Yeah, not bad for home DSL. You probably have a 1.5/384 deal.

I have the basic DSL deal. For ten bucks more they have the higher bandwith deal. I have always suspected they are the same (what? they have a filter blocking your home to slow you down unless you pay the extra ten bucks? I smell BS).

It's SBC, whcih was recently bought by AT&T, which will undoubtedly be bought by Haliburton sooner or later.

Soon, there will only be one company, running everything everywhere.

I guess I need to buy some Haliburton stock then.

I had about the same problem with mine my download speed slowed way down but upload was about the same. My problem ended up something was wrong with my router, recevied a new one and all is good again.

God those connection speeds are unreal. Thought I was sitting on top of the world when I went from dial up to my 850 kbps download connection.
