Man...yes the Andy Griffith show was awesome...many shows during that time period were great. The shows now for kids mostly suck! I would say most things now in general suck...can't turn the tv on without seeing something jiggling or some rapper gettin bleeped if the bleep it. Rip Don! Rip the good ole days!!!!!!!

That made me think and has me more than a little scared.
What is it going to be 20 years from now. Are we going to look back and remember the shows from today and say that was when entertainment was clean and wholesome? I can't imagine it getting much worse, but then everytime I say that something else flashes on the screen that proves me wrong.

Ditto. I'm just 5 days younger than Ron Howard, so every time I see little "Ronnie" Howard in a rerun of the Andy Griffith Show, it reminds me of how much time has passed -- and how much things have changed.

For me, the high points of the show were the scenes with Don Knotts, and the show was never quite the same after he left.

One thing that you can say about Knotts that you can't say about many actors (especially today): he was always a class act.

R.I.P., Don!

Don Knotts was one of the few actors who did TV and movies you could watch with your kids and not worry about what they would see. That's getting harder and harder to find.

R.I.P Don Knotts you were one of the greats.
